T-Mobile expands 4G rollout, talks about LTE in 2013

Now that the T-Mobile AT&T merger has been terminated they are looking ahead to 2013 and trying hard to get back on track. Last month they announced their plans to rollout a 4G LTE network similar to the current offerings from Verizon and AT&T, and today they've detailed more cities getting HSPA+ 4G starting today -- and their plans for the future.

AT&T extending 4G LTE network to 12 new markets in April

AT&T is still playing a severely slow game of catch-up with Verizon and their vast and quick 4G LTE rollout. They've just announced a couple of new markets that will soon be getting the fast 4G LTE speeds and we have all the details. According to AT&T, Cleveland will be up next to receive the update and that is coming soon. Then 11 other markets are going to get the blue switch flipped from AT&T too.

Samsung Galaxy Note to show up on the Three UK network

The Samsung Galaxy Note has been an extremely hot topic here in the US as of late, but overseas its been out for quite some time. However, that doesn't mean every carrier is offering it. The Note is set to show up on the Three UK cellular network sometime soon. This was just announced by the carrier themselves, and that they'll be carrying the white version.

AT&T to provide free WiFi zones and boost network in Indianapolis for Super Bowl

Recently reports suggest Verizon spent an upwards of $69 million to boost their network in preparation for the big game, Super Bowl XLVI in Indianapolis. They've been getting all the airtime but they aren't the only ones going big for my favorite day of the year. AT&T has made huge improvements in downtown Indianapolis for the visitors not to mention huge increases around the stadium. AT&T is aiming to offer their subscribers the perfect day full of football, beer, and a few signal bars too.

Verizon rolling out Voice over LTE in 2013

New reports have recently appeared regarding Verizon and their VoLTE services. What this offers is voice over their 4G LTE networks, something that currently isn't available. Verizon's ever expanding 4G LTE network is for data only and all voice calls are placed on their extremely wide 3G cellular networks.

Verizon had three mass network outages this December, and here’s why

It's no surprise Verizon has the fastest and most developed 4G LTE network in the US, but consistently terming them most reliable would be an overstatement for the month of December. And frankly, three mass network outages can cause some serious communication issues for both work and leisure. Heck, many families are now doing away with a central home phone, and just subscribing the entire family to a plan of cellphones.

AT&T and T-Mobile call it quits — won’t be merging after all

AT&T has just issued a statement today outlining what many probably already saw coming. And that is that they have decided to call it quits and end the bid for a T-Mobile buyout. This was by far one of the biggest corporate deals this year, especially in the mobile industry but at the moment it appears to be dead in the water -- and for good.
