Verizon Messages app update will let you message from your smartphone or tablet
Verizon Wireless has announced (and released) the latest update for their messaging app. The app is called Verizon Messages and is now sitting at version 4.0. Those looking for the app will be able to grab it from the Google Play Store and while it will run nicely on your smartphone, this update has added some functionality that will have you wanting to install on your tablet as well.

We've been hearing tips and rumors suggesting the folks from Verizon and Samsung were going to release a white version of the Galaxy Nexus, but nothing ever arrived. Now recently there's a new page right front and center on Verizon's own website showing off what clearly seems to be a white Galaxy Nexus. Interesting right?

Today Verizon has just issued an update for their popular My Verizon App. The version here for my Galaxy Nexus was just updated this morning and claims to have some impressive new UI features (that I'm not seeing) but does manage to bring a new widget reminder along with it. If you've ever used My Verizon you'd know it's the easiest way to check data and minute usage, as well as pay your monthly bill.

This morning Samsung revealed the Galaxy Pocket, a rather small device sporting a 2.8" display. This isn't the first Samsung device with a smaller than average screen size; coming in at 3.2 inches was the Samsung Dart. It should be available in the UK later on this year. Imangi Studios has finally let us know an official date to expect the extremely popular free game Temple Run in the Android Market - rather Google Play.

The Samsung Droid Charge is just the second phone to launch with Verizon 4G LTE, it may be blazing fast but it is not perfect. Lucky for all you Charge owners Verizon has just given the green light for an update to begin rolling out. The update should come OTA (over the air) right to the device and it should fix a slew of issues and problems as well as bring on many performance and 3G/4G connectivity improvements.

The 10.1 inch XOOM tablet by Motorola was unveiled at todays press conference at CES, Las Vegas. This year Motorola offers a new "first" by confirming that the XOOM will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb. Thats not even half of it; the device offers dual core processing with each core capable of running at 1Ghz. The device will become available first quarter of 2011 and will become upgradeable to handle 4G LTE in the second quarter. It will sport a 2.0MP front facing camera for video chatting over either WiFi or 3G and also have a 5.0MP rear camera. Like your Android smartphone, the XOOM will be constantly connected to the internet for instant Gmail and ActiveSync notifications. More information in the press release:

Verizon has started to push an update to it's account management app with Express Services. Giving an option for Verizon customers to quickly and conveniently manage accounts at home or on the go, Verizon is recommending this application to it's users to make their account management easier and more convenient. Using the application you can see a list of frequent transactions and your current plan and devices. In one click users can start to explore their account activity quickly and easily, and complete popular transactions, including viewing a bill, managing Friends and Family, changing billing addresses, or even adding new lines and activating new phones. "Now, with one click, customers can use Express Services to select the transactions they want, with time-saving account management services that are simple to use and consistent across multiple touch points, empowering them to save time and control their wireless services, whenever and wherever they want," said executive vice president and chief operating officer for Verizon Wireless, John Stratton.
