Voloco music/voice processing app is bizarre offspring from creepy controller [Video]
What do you mean, you've never wanted a springbok-horn decorated, motion-sensing music controller glove? The musos at Jazari would be disappointed with you, though you can probably make it up to them by downloading their new Android app, Voloco. Voloco is basically a real-time automatic tuning, pitch-shifting and vocoding app, based on Jazari's custom vocal processing software as shown in action in the video below. Load up a song from your phone's music library and it will automatically identify its tuning; you can then record your own mangling efforts. Unfortunately, it won't let you control a vast array of percussion instrumentation simply by moving your hands. That will have to be left to the experts, as in the somewhat bizarre video below. You can download Voloco free from the Android Market. [youtube f5DgC-SOXmU]

SoundHound creators offer new app called Hound
The developer behind the app SoundHound app that we wrote about last in December 2010 has announced a new app for Android users. The new app is called simply Hound and is a voice search app for music. Users of the full version of the SoundHound app on the Android Market have noted in the reviews for Hound that the full version of SoundHound already has voice search. This is apparently aimed at people that don’t want to spend the $4.99 on the full version, but want voice search.

Notifications Windows Music Controller Demo on LG Optimus 3D
Have you seen this little piece of candy before? It's a cool little audio track controller present in the notifications pull-down menu on the LG Optimus 3D. It controls the music you're playing with your stock music player and, since Music Beta force closes when you try to open it on LG Optimus 3D, that's pretty much it. It does see album cover art, and does display that, then plays the track, whichever track you want to play.

House of the Rising XOOM [Fan-Made Video]
There comes a time in every contest's life where an entry stands out so hard that I've GOT to post it up in the main feed. Here at Android Community we've got a XOOM giveaway going on where you enter by "liking" us on Facebook and posting on the wall. Each entry is considered equal, a random contest with random winners chosen, but this did not stop Android Community fan Jan Jorgensen from writing an epic re-telling of the House of the Rising Sun. Behold a masterpiece of Android fandom!

TuneIn Radio Pro adds stream recording
Who knows how long this will last, but RadioTime has released an update to it's popular TuneIn Radio Pro for Android app which allows for recording of radio streams. Users can simply tap on the red record button and the app saves the stream as an .m4a file. There's also a DVR function that allows users to pause and backup. Users can then play back the file through the TuneIn Radio app, upload it to DropBox, or even email it to a friend.

Grooveshark says it’s not illegal, vows to fight to the peg
Grooveshark is a company that has found itself on the wrong side of the RIAA and Google. Grooveshark is a music platform that allows streaming and sharing of music. It may sound like your typical peer-to-peer site, but Grooveshark insist that it is legal and pays for streams.

Google Acquires Pushlife, will be pushing music to Android
Google has talked more than a few times about music on Android. We all know that the music player isn't one of Androids strong points, but all the Pros heavily outweight the music player. I use it daily and enjoy it. Today Google just took another step in the right direction. They have acquired a media company called Pushlife, site only saying that Google bought them now. The rest of the site is offline.

Rovio’s Amazon Connection will Change App Sales for Android Forever
If you've got your hand on the pulse of the developer community here in the Android world, you've got some sense that a maker of games can get a lot more cash in their pocket by giving away a game for free (with ad coverage all over it) than they can selling the game without ads. This is due in part to the market that's developed in the Android world, one where it's much more likely that a game will be popular and stay popular if it costs the consumer no currency*. All that may be about to change with Rovio's announcement that Angry Birds: RIO will be released on Amazon's new Android app market exclusively.
