SoundCloud introduces in-app audio editing

SoundCloud is a great platform to upload all of your audio creations to, and a lot of people use it to publish their own music and podcasts for the world to listen in on and hopefully gain some popularity. A big chunk of their user base enjoys using the service's mobile app, and it updated today with some pretty cool new features.

Shazam hits 250 million users, adds TV-tagging capabilities

Shazam, the popular music-tagging app for Android, iPhone, Windows Phone and BlackBerry, announced today that its hit 250 million users with around two million new users joining every week. To celebrate, the app has been updated to include TV tagging for U.S. users, which allows you to find out what music is playing on your favorite shows, as well as other useful info.

HTC turns down the music, gives back half of Beats Audio shares

HTC has turned down the music in what appears to be a scale back of their plans with the music company Beats Audio. I'd be lying if I said I was surprised, as I wasn't too sold on the idea to begin with. In what HTC is calling “a realignment of their business agreement” they've sold 25% of their 51% stake back to Beats, and now is no longer the majority stockholder.

New Spotify for Android hits Google Play

Spotify has announced that it is pulling the covers off of its new app Spotify for Android. The new app is on Google Play right now and can be downloaded to your device. The new app has full support for Android 4.0 and a new slide out navigation pane. The app also offers cross fade/gapless playback settings for when you want to listen to lots of music with no interruption.

Forget Shazam. Have you tried SoundHound yet? I've been using it instead of Shazam for well over a year for its top notch user interface, options, lyrics, and outright faster music recognition. Today however they just made their app even better by updating to their all new version 5.0 that brings tons of changes. Spotify music streaming heads to Australia and New Zealand

The popular digital music streaming service Spotify that we love here at Android Community is headed to a few more countries.
