Google Play Movies update brings info card support on tablets
Google Play Movies has recently been updated and amongst the new features is one that will be available only for tablet users. The tablet specific change brings info card badges. Basically, those watching with the Play Movies app will now be able to press pause and get details about the movie. The information will include goodies such as details about the actors, related films and even what song happens to be playing in the movie.

Coming off of what was an invitation-only beta period, Redbox Instant is now available for the pubic. At this point the invitation is no longer needed and signing up requires nothing more than a visit to the Redbox Instant website. Well, that and the action of actually signing up. We should also give the warning right from the beginning, there is a free trial available, however you will need to provide some credit card details in order to get started.

A few weeks back Google announced that they were taking Google+ to a new level on the social front. That being the capability to integrate the social network into apps. Just like signing into your favorite Zynga game with Facebook, or allowing apps access to Twitter. Today Movies by Flixster has just updated their Android app with full Google+ access.

Google Movie ‘The Internship’ debut trailer released
Yesterday the folks from Google teamed up with the co-stars from Wedding Crashers Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn and held a Google+ hangout session. It was hosted by the one and only Conan O'Brien to debut the official trailer for their brand new movie. It isn't Google's movie but it's what many are now calling the "Google Movie" and both stars will be playing interns at Google.

A brand new comedy movie featuring the two awesome dudes from Wedding Crashers, Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn is coming soon. And to make thing even better the movie will be about two interns working for Google. It's called The Internship and we mentioned it on our sister site back in September. These two celebrities were shooting tons of scenes of the movie right at Google's HQ in California.

MoviePass has officially launched an app for Android. Though, while the release of the app is certainly good news for movie fans, there is a catch that you will want to be aware of -- MoviePass is still only available for those who have received an invitation. Those with knowledge of the service looking to get started can request an invitation directly from the MoviePass website.

Star Trek: Into Darkness movie companion app hands-on
J.J. Abrams may be moving onto a different space franchise in 2015, but for now, all eyes are on his upcoming film Star Trek: Into Darkness. The movie doesn't hit theaters until May 17, but today Paramount Pictures has released the movie companion app. The Star Trek: Into Darkness app exists to get users excited for the movie, having them scan real-world images and trailers to unlock bonuses and earn points.

Late last month we brought you news that Redbox and Verizon were teaming up to offer a new service called RedBox Instant, and today we have additional details and pricing confirmations on the upcoming streaming service.
