Motorola Milestone XT720 Heading to Wind Mobile

As Android continues to make its way to every carrier on every continent, sometimes it's not the biggest named, or highest-profile device that makes its debut for a particular carrier. In the case of Wind Mobile, word that the Milestone XT720 from Motorola would be launching on the network has come and gone for a little while now, but thanks to a sneaked image of internal training, where the XT720 is obviously showcased, we can safely say the phone is coming.

Motorola Milestone XT720 hits UK on Monday

The Motorola Milestone XT720 will land in the UK on Monday July 19th, according to retailer Clove, offering a 3.7-inch 854 x 480 display, 720MHz processor and 8-megapixel camera with Xenon flash.  Priced at £381.88, the XT720 runs Android 2.1 and supports 720p HD video recording and playback via a mini-HDMI port. There's also the usual GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth and an FM radio, together with a microSD card slot and a 10.9mm thick chassis.  For more on the XT720, check out our hands-on report over at SlashGear. However, every phone has to find its way out of the shadows eventually, and today is the XT502's moment. Motorola XT720 Heading to Germany

The XT720 is already heading to the UK in July, this much we know. And, we've heard plenty of rumors that it's going to show up here locally on T-Mobile USA's network some time in the future. So, where's it missing? How about Germany? That's where you were thinking, right? If you find yourself in Germany and in need of a new Android fix, then it looks like Motorola's got you covered.

Motorola XT720 gets official: keyboard-free 8MP DROID [Video]

Motorola have taken the wraps off of their latest Android 2.1 smartphone, the 10.9mm thick Motorola XT720, and it's basically a keyboard-free version of the DROID. Packing an 8-megapixel autofocus camera with Xenon flash and 720p HD video recording, the XT720 also has an HDMI port, 3G/HSPA and a 3.7-inch 480 x 854 capacitive touchscreen. There's no MOTOBLUR, however, though you do get all the usual Google Android apps together with a trial of MOTONAV. The whole thing measures in at 60.9 x 115.95 x 10.9 mm and has WiFi b/g, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, an FM radio, accelerometer, digital compass, GPS and a proximity sensor. The XT720 is set to hit preorder at Expansys, Play and Clove this Friday, with a general release this month. No word on carrier partners at present, nor pricing, and they also won't confirm when - or if - the smartphone will get an Android 2.2 Froyo update or launch in the US.
