Motorola Xoom 4G LTE Upgrade Not Coming Until September

I guess we can't really say that the Xoom 4G LTE upgrade has been delayed because we never truly knew when it was coming. When it went on sale February 24th 2011 buyers were told the upgrade would come within the next 3 months. So according to that time frame I guess I could say the update has now been delayed.

My Beach HD Live Wallpaper, Lets Enjoy Some Sun!

I saw this Live Wallpaper this morning and it was just so amazing that I had to share it with everyone. I've been getting into the LWP's lately and this is a refreshing and highly customizable wallpaper almost everyone can enjoy, unless you don't like the beach. (Is that even possible) This is My Beach HD and as always the pictures just do NOT do justice and you'll need to install this yourself or watch the video to truly enjoy it.

Android Community News Round-Up: July 20th, 2011

I'm back today with another news round-up to keep things quick and simple for all of you that are busy these days. I'll keep this short and sweet and give you all a few details and links to all the stories that mattered most today in the world of Android.

Sparkling Particle 3D Live Wallpaper, It’s Awesome and Free

So I've got this new addiction to Live Wallpapers in case you readers haven't noticed. I've been finding a few cool or unique LWP each day and posting them here for everyone else to love and enjoy, and today is no different. Today I found an awesome LWP that is also free. It might not look that great from the screenshots, but on the device it's actually really nice and my new favorite.

$400 Motorola XOOM tablet is today’s Woot deal

As the first Honeycomb tablet to hit store shelves, the Motorola XOOM perhaps lacks some of the glamor of its more recent Android slate siblings; however, it's still a solid option as long as the price is right. Woot's deal for today is a $399.99 XOOM WiFi, a saving of $100 versus other retailers. Now, it's a refurbished unit, not brand new, but we imagine there are plenty of people who will look past that for the sake of $100 left in their pocket. It's also not the Verizon 3G model, so there's no WWAN connectivity and no 4G LTE upgrade on the horizon; still, you also don't commit yourself to a data plan. In fact the biggest issue might be low-cost rivals. Amazon is currently asking the same price for a brand new Acer Iconia Tab A500, which we reviewed back in April, with similar performance but a metal casing.

Motorola LTE-Enabled XOOM Crosses FCC. And There was Much Rejoicing

You waited, you yearned, you began to lose hope, but now to continue to string you along comes a glimmer of hope from our friends at the Federal Communications Commission. Many didn't realize it would take this long for the 3G version of the Motorola XOOM to be eligible for its factory upgrade to blazing LTE. Whatever the mysterious hold-up was, it may disappearing as the FCC just approved the LTE upgraded version.

Android 3.2 will Feature Zoom to Fill Screen Option

Android 3.0 Honeycomb has been gaining ground in the tablet market and while it is a great tablet OS and has an amazing multi-task feature among other things, the applications are still not fully there. With more and more tablet apps hitting the market each week the numbers for native tablet apps are still a little low. Recent info suggests Android 3.2 will be hitting the Motorola Xoom soon and it appears that Google is now working on the screen size issue for android applications.
