Motorola MOTOROI is Coming to the US by March 2010?

By now, chances are you already enjoyed those 3 video ads from Korea about the MOTOROI by Motorola. If you like Korea's first Android 2.0 handset, then you might be happy to know that it is coming to America sooner rather then later. According to the Korea Herald, there's a great chance that Motorola's new Android handset will make it to the US. First hint came from Rick Wolochatiuk, president and representative director of Motorola Korea, who said: "The product will be launched in other markets around the world." Also, at a press conference Bae Joon-dong Senior Vice President of SK Telecom said: "The MOTOROI is a different model from the Droid, (Motorola's Android smartphone launched in the United States), and it will be launched in the United States around March". So what do you think, would you wait until March to get this handset?

Korean ads for the new Motorola MOTOROI (aka Sholes) [Video]

Like many of us, our friend djunio is keeping an eye on the MOTOROI Android-powered handset made by Motorola. So you might enjoy the three video ads we have about this new device at the end of this post, even though they are in Korean. Motorola’s first Android 2.0 device for the Korean market shows some basic phone capabilities on the first video. And if you were wondering on how to pronounce the name (MOTOROI) of this handset, well, just pay attention to the clips and you will find out. On the second clip you will see some of the 8-megapixel camera functions been demonstrated, and the third video shows you how to use the 720p HD video recording capability. As you can see, Motorola’s social networking integration system better known as MOTOBLUR is no where to be found on the new MOTOROI. Motorola Announces MOTOROI with Android 2.0 for Korea

Back on December we had some pictures of the Motorola Sholes (XT701) running on the newest version of Android (2.1) heading for China Unicom. This time Motorola have confirmed the arrival to the Korean market of what appears to be the same handset but using Android 2.0 instead. This Motorola handset is called the "MOTOROI" (yea, it sounds a little funny), and will be the first smartphone for the Korean market to run on Google's Android 2.0. The MOTOROI will arrive to Korea sporting an 8 megapixel camera with Xenon flash and a 720p HD camcorder. The Android-powered handset has a 3.7-inch (480X854) WVGA capacitive touchscreen, multitouch gesture support, and up to 32GB of storage with a MicroSD. MOTOROI owners will be able to enjoy Terrestrial DMB1 with up to 24 TV and audio channels for free. [gallery] Press Release:

More on Motorola XT701, XT800 and MT710 Android smartphones and Official Specs

Let's begin with the MOTO MT710, which we already know about, since its official site has been up for a while now. This Motorola phone will use China’s own 3G standard; TD-SCDMA (Time Division Synchronous Code Division Multiple Access) network. So is most likely that it won't make it to the States. But the other two new devices from Motorola; the XT701 (aka Sholes) and the XT800 have a chance to make it here. Something worth mentioning is, these three new Motorola smartphones run Android and have a nice 3.7-inch 854 x 480 display. And they also come with most of the goodies you come to expect from an Android phone. For now, Chinese people will be enjoying these Motorola phones, but we may see them later next year making their way into Europe and the US. Let's begin with the specifications of the Motorola XT701 (aka Sholes): * WCDMA / HSDPA 10.2M / HSUPA 5.76M * 3.7-inch-wide touch-screen , 854X480 resolution * 5 million pixel auto-focus camera, Xenon flash , high-quality image capture * Strong CortexTM-A8 quad-core processor, multi-tasking at the same time smooth collaboration, high-speed operation * Built-in gravity sensor, infrared proximity sensors, ambient light sensor * GPS / aGPS navigation * WLAN: 802.11 b / g, WAPI / WIFI * Video capture / playback / streaming media * Maximum support 32GB Micro-SD (HC) expansion cards * FM Stereo FM radio * OMTP standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, while supporting the traditional 3.5 mm headphone * Support MP3/AAC/AACv1/AACv2/AMR-NB/AMR-WB/MIDI/MIDI/WAV/Ogg Vorbis / * PCM music formats, etc. * Supported video formats MPEG4/H.263/H.264 * Support SMS, MMS, e-mail (POP3/IMAP4) and enterprise-class e-mail * USB 2.0 high-speed data transfer * Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR High-speed transmission / Wireless Bluetooth Stereo And next, are the specifications for the Motorola XT800: * Android 2.0 with full suite of Google applications * CDMA EVDO / GSM dual-network * 3G network support, WIFI / WAPI free switching * 3.7-inch high-definition resolution of 854×480 * HDMI high-definition (720p) output * 5 million pixel digital camera, auto focus, dual LED flash * Cortex TM – A8 multi-core processor * MOTO-specific Nicam -professional intelligent noise reduction * GPS * 32GB Micro-SD * Electronic Compass & Support for gravity sensing * Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR * FM Stereo FM radio * Standard 3.5 mm headphone jack Apparently, the MT710 will be release on China Mobile, the XT701 will go to China Unicom, and the XT800 to China Telecom. Leaked Images of the Motorola Sholes Caught in Wild

Sometimes I wish I had a crystal ball - well, I guess everyone feels like that sometimes - to see if rumors or leaked images are real, and for other things too. Well, the folks over at Mobile01 don't have a crystal ball but they got their paws on some images of the mysterious Motorola Sholes. Not only that, but they got some info on the specs as well. The device, which is apparently the Sholes, will have a touchscreen of 3.7-inch and 854 x 480 resolution. Also, it will sport an autofocus camera with Xenon flash and 8MP to compete with the camera on the Sony XPERIA X10. It will also have one feature that many of you will really love, an HDMI output. Which should be the first in an Android phone that we might see. Unless ZiiLabs gets their product out to the public first. It is believed that Android 2.0 will be running on this new device from Motorola, but by the time it comes out, it might get an even higher version of the free mobile OS from Google.

Motorola Sholes Android phone tipped for October Verizon launch

What looks set to be Verizon Wireless' first Android handset, the Motorola Sholes, has been tipped for a release in late October.  The Motorola Sholes Android smartphone is expected to have a full touchscreen display that slides aside to reveal a QWERTY keyboard. The leaked Verizon roadmap does not, unfortunately, have pricing details for the Motorola Sholes, but the Android device has previously been tipped as an entry- to -mid-range device so we're expecting something at around the $99 price point.  That's unconfirmed speculation right now, however. Android Community will likely find out more, though, at Motorola's press event on September 10th, where the company is expected to unveil its new range of Google phones.  We're fully expecting to see the Motorola Sholes Android smartphone center stage.
