We could call this a good deal right? The original Motorola DROID also known as the Milestone brings back some good ol Android memories for many. This device may be a dying breed with all the 4.0" screens and dual-core processors these days but if you love some original DROID and a keyboard this is a pretty solid deal and worth a quick shout if you ask me.

This brand new ROM of Android 2.3 Gingerbread that edgardastro has baked up is based on AOSP, and there is still quite a bit of development going on, so don't expect a perfect build quite yet.

Motorola Milestone Gets Android 2.2 Test Build, Poses for Photos

So, if you've got yourself a Motorola MILESTONE, then you've probably been trying to wait patiently for the upgrade to Android 2.2. While Motorola hasn't really been all that forthcoming with 2.2 information for the device, at least we know it's coming. And, sure enough, the European side of the company has taken some steps to show off the test build for the device, and show them off.

Motorola Milestone XT720 Possibly Headed To Wind Mobile

The Canadian carrier Wind Mobile, has been rumored to be getting the Motorola Milestone XT720. The Milestone would be Wind's most high-end device, and would only be the second Android handset available from the carrier. On top of that, they would be the first Canadian carrier to have the phone available.

When we brought you the latest information regarding Motorola's upgrade plans for their Android-powered devices out there in the wild, the initial big surprise was that the Motorola Milestone over there in Europe had been given the green light for the roll-out to Android 2.2, beginning some time in the fourth quarter of this year. Considering Motorola hadn't known whether or not they would upgrade the device initially, it was pretty big news. But now, in a move that no one expected, Motorola has out-done themselves.

Motorola Updates Android Upgrade Timeline

Each time Motorola updates their Android upgrade timeline, it manages to make headlines. Not surprising, considering that every time it happens, something interesting changes. This time around, though, it takes the cake. Just weeks after we reported that Motorola was still wondering whether or not they'd even take time out of their day to upgrade the Motorola Milestone to Android 2.2, they've now decided to go ahead and do it.

Motorola MILESTONE for O2 Germany Upgrading to Android 2.2 in September

Apparently, the MILESTONE missed the initial Android 2.2 bus. But, hey, at least it's getting it at all, right? We had actually heard rumors (which spurred from Motorola themselves, mind you) that the MILESTONE might not be getting upgraded to Android 2.2 at all. But, that's not the case for the MILESTONE that's branded with O2 Germany's decal.

Motorola Milestone Gets Android 2.2, Unofficially

As of this writing, it looks like Motorola is on the fence regarding a future update to Android 2.2, as it relates to the Milestone. It just got Android 2.1, so we can see where Motorola is coming from. That's from a logic standpoint. But, from the much healthier standpoint of wanting the most current software on our device at all times, we're wondering what they're thinking. Thankfully, though, we've got a great development community out there -- and here you have Android 2.2, in build FRF91 -- which has already made the rounds over plenty of devices already.

Motorola Milestone’s Android 2.2 Future Still Undecided

Bad news for Motorola Milestone users. Apparently, Motorola are still undecided on whether or not they should bring Android 2.2 (Froyo) to the Motorola Milestone. The marketing director of the Motorola European region, James King, states that Motorola has yet to make final decision on whether they will be offering Froyo to their users.

Motorola Pulls Back Their Maintenance Update for Motorola Milestone

The Motorola Milestone, the international version of the original Droid, is getting some update love. Except, well, they're not. Before we get to the bad news, take a gander at what the update was supposed to fix. Stabilization and improvement of the device's overall performance. It fixes force closing issues, bug fixes for the alarm, random reboots, and improved music player functionality with enhancements to the device's audio quality. Also, they have tweaked the proximity sensor to be more accurate during calls to prevent the screen from staying on while you are on the call.
