Verizon drops DROID RAZR price to $199 sans SD card

Good things come to those who wait. If you waited a few months before buying a Motorola DROID RAZR on Verizon, that good thing is a shiny $100 discount. The 16GB version of the DROID RAZR is now $199.99 on Verizon's website, and should be the same at most corporate stores (though retail and online partners might be a little behind the curve). The 32GB version is now $299.99. The price drop is a little misleading - both models have 16BG of internal memory, but the more expensive one also comes with a 16GB card, which the cheaper version lacks.

DROID RAZR can now be restored to stock via fastboot
It's always nice to know that once you "brick" your device, there is a way to bring it back to life through fastboot. Just yesterday, leaked fastboot files for the Motorola DROID RAZR surfaced over at XDA Developers and DroidRZR.com. Both sources claim that they have successfully flashed the files to their devices, so don't feel like you have to be the guinea pig!

Motorola DROID RAZR gets ClockworkMod, opens doors for fun
Motorola makes some great hardware and we all know that. Sadly almost all of them with the DROID RAZR included are extremely locked down and don't give the end user many options for modding or running custom ROM's. This is nothing new from Motorola and I won't even get into the fact that they claimed to be changing this policy. Either way we now have another victory and ClockworkMod recovery is now available on the RAZR.

Cee Lo hides white DROID RAZR in LA, Motorola gives away 6 more
Sprite spokesman, American Dad! guest star and occasional R&B singer Cee Lo Green has a white Motorola DROID RAZR, and he wants to give it to you. Not you, personally, but at least one of his Twitter followers, now numbered at about half a million. He's hidden it somewhere in Los Angeles, and will be tweeting out clues to its precise location on his official account, @CeeLoGreen. You probably shouldn't check under the big "W" in the Hollywood sign.

DROID RAZR gets an early Ice Cream Sandwich ROM

Independent developers are hard at work on Ice Cream Sandwich for everything from the Nexus One to the HTC Rezound. But after the hue and cry surrounding the DROID RAZR's factory-locked bootloader, I thought that Verizon customers would have to wait for an official update before they could taste some sweet Ice Cream Sandwich. At least one dev, "DroidTh3ory", has stepped outside the walled garden and installed a bootable version of Android 4.0 on the DROID RAZR, by way of a dual-boot hack.

Motorola DROID RAZR gets a white version for December
Nothing says "Happy Holidays" like the world's most neutral color. In addition to a rather subdued DROID XYBOARD announcement, Verizon let slip that an all-white version of the Motorola DROID RAZR would be available this month. Aside from a frosty casing, there's no difference from the model that launched last month - you'll still need to fork over $299.99 and sign up for a new two-year contract, or be eligible for a renewal. A specific date was not mentioned.

DROID RAZR Battery is removable, If you dare
When the new Motorola DROID RAZR was first announced we all quickly learned that the battery was not removable. The back of the device was attached for good, making users unable to remove or swap the battery should they choose. This isn't a huge issue but many weren't happy to hear the news. Not to mention the modding and dev community relies on battery pulls somewhat often -- I've had a few of those moments myself. Lucky for us a loyal reader has just received his shiny new DROID RAZR and tore it down himself to find that the back actually does come off, it just takes a little effort.
