Motorola: DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX Jelly Bean update rolling out today

Well that was fast. Earlier today some reports came flooding in that Motorola was finally sending out limited beta test builds of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean for the original and aging DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX. Now just a few short hours later Motorola themselves have confirmed the real update will arrive starting today to all RAZR owners. It's about time!

If you're the proud owner of the original Motorola DROID RAZR or RAZR MAXX from Verizon Wireless we have some excellent news. Reports are flooding in that the 'official' update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is in the testing stages, and hopefully will be coming soon. However, lucky for you guys we already have the actual update file and you can get it right now. Details and instructions can be found below.

The update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for the original Motorola DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX has been somewhat of a mystery. After the company did an excellent job updating their RAZR HD and RAZR M, the original RAZR owners have been stuck waiting. Today however we have good news that the official beta (soak test) for the update has started, and hopefully it will be rolling out to all users soon.

The folks from Verizon and Motorola nicely surprised everyone this holiday season by sending out the update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on Christmas morning. If you didn't get too many gifts, this should be one to enjoy.

Android 4.0 ICS rolling out to DROID RAZR beta members, update coming soon

We have more good news today for all those owners of the DROID RAZR and RAZR MAXX. After the entire mix up last week about its rumored Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update today we can now confirm the ICS upgrade is rolling out to testers in Motorola's Feedback Network. If all goes well we could see this update available for everyone within the next week.

Verizon and Motorola's extremely popular DROID RAZR is still awaiting the update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. We've seen multiple leaks, as well as various reports that the update would be coming soon. Remember the last one? CNET "confirmed" the update would arrive today June 12th, but sadly that didn't pan out. Today Verizon has confirmed that it's no where in our immediate future.

Verizon confirms global roaming for Rezound and three DROIDs

We've seen hacks and hints, but Verizon has finally confirmed that select devices in its 4G LTE stable will be getting access to global roaming soon. The HTC Rezound and the Motorola DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX and DROID 4 will all have their latent GSM capabilities switched on this summer, with voice roaming possible in "more than 220 countries" and data in "more than 205". Exact dates were not given.

Verizon may enable global roaming on LTE phones soon

Verizon's no stranger to global roaming, but thus far none of its 4G LTE devices have been graced with this feature. This, despite the fact that many users have been able to mod phones like the HTC Rezound for just that, and even enable rudimentary access to domestic GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. Some candid photos of upcoming in-store materials show that Verizon is indeed planning to activate the latent GSM bands in the HTC Rezound, and probably other LTE phones, for international travel.

We heard reports on a blue RAZR coming soon, then Verizon announced the new flavor last week. Today we have their just released promo video for those wanting to see it in the flesh.
