Verizon DROID RAZR M and RAZR HD launch in blue

Putting an end to some leaks and rumors that surfaced earlier in the month, Verizon Wireless has launched the DROID RAZR M and DROID RAZR HD smartphones in an additional color. The new color is blue and it will be joining the existing black and white models. That said, aside from the change in color -- the handset specs and pricing remain the same.

Motorola introduced a platinum colored DROID RAZR M a few months back. The handset was for Verizon Wireless and was selling exclusively through big box retailer Best Buy. That particular model was a simple color refresh and the handset carried the same specs and $49.99 price tag. Well, flash forward till today and it looks like the DROID RAZR M may soon be getting another color refresh.

Early last week we confirmed the folks from Motorola and Verizon were preparing to release a software update for the 4.3-inch DROID RAZR M full of fixes, and now it's ready. We've received multiple reports that the update (still Android 4.1 Jelly Bean) for the M is arriving on devices as we speak and should fix a slew of issues.

Last week multiple reports and a few pictures surfaced of what appeared to be a titanium or 'platinum' colored Motorola DROID RAZR M from Verizon Wireless with Blue accents rather than the typical Verizon Red. After it appeared on Best Buy's site it looks like Motorola has also officially confirmed the device, and it's available now.

Verizon Wireless had the Droid RAZR M in black and white as well as the recently launched pink. And well, as of today it looks like the handset has come available in another color. The latest color model is called platinum and will not be found direct with the carrier. Instead, those interested in picking up a Droid RAZR M in this new color will have to make plans to shop with Best Buy.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean arrives for DROID RAZR M

Late last week we shared some news that the Motorola DROID RAZR M was set to receive android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the coming weeks. Motorola stated the RAZR M would be the first of many to receive the update, followed by the RAZR HD and more. Today we can confirm the update has indeed started rolling out from Motorola and Verizon, and is arriving on RAZR M devices as we speak.
