Motorola DROID Bionic is getting a much needed and hotly anticipated update starting today and over the next few weeks. Last week we reported the update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean was in the works, then Friday Verizon confirmed the details. Today we're happy to confirm it's rolling out as we speak.

Motorola had begun testing the Jelly Bean update for the DROID Bionic. And well, it looks like that update is just about ready to begin rolling out to Verizon Wireless users. The carrier has since detailed the update and as such we now know that it will be arriving as Android 4.1.2 and with build number 98.72.22.XT875.

DROID Bionic is getting some slightly good news today. While we are still awaiting the official update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich it looks like the folks from Motorola are getting close. Personally I think the Bionic should get updated before the RAZR, but that's just me. Today however the near-final Android 4.0.4 build has leaked and is available to all.
