Verizon confirms global roaming for Rezound and three DROIDs

We've seen hacks and hints, but Verizon has finally confirmed that select devices in its 4G LTE stable will be getting access to global roaming soon. The HTC Rezound and the Motorola DROID RAZR, DROID RAZR MAXX and DROID 4 will all have their latent GSM capabilities switched on this summer, with voice roaming possible in "more than 220 countries" and data in "more than 205". Exact dates were not given.

Verizon may enable global roaming on LTE phones soon

Verizon's no stranger to global roaming, but thus far none of its 4G LTE devices have been graced with this feature. This, despite the fact that many users have been able to mod phones like the HTC Rezound for just that, and even enable rudimentary access to domestic GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. Some candid photos of upcoming in-store materials show that Verizon is indeed planning to activate the latent GSM bands in the HTC Rezound, and probably other LTE phones, for international travel.

Ice Cream Sandwich leaks for the DROID 4

Motorola's DROID 4 slider might be next out of the freezer for an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Many users were getting worried with the lack of update information from Verizon and Motorola but today an official build right from Motorola has leaked of Android 4.0 ICS for the DROID 4. More details below for the few interested.

Verizon’s Droid Does TV campaign returns

American Android aficionados will remember Verizon's Droid Does campaign fondly: it kicked off with Motorola's original DROID and was instrumental in giving Android a leg up on iOS in the United States in 2009. While the Droid Does campaign continued with the likes of the HTC DROID Incredible and others, it seemed to disappear from the airwaves once Verizon got its hands on the iPhone 4. Now it's back, showing off the DROID 4, DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX from Motorola.
