Motorola MT716 Brings the Droid and Cliq Together

One hot mama! Motorola's new MT716  is silver, sleek, and absolutely stunning! Its similarity, at first-glance, to the Droid and Droid 2, is apparent, but this one's fully equipped, with even better specs. This baby's got an 8MP camera, with dual LED flash and takes 720P video! It has loads of other amazing features too, like 512 MB of RAM-now who doesn't want that much RAM in their pocket? Let's not forget the front-facing camera, or the full QWERTY keyboard, with a nice trackpad. Sounds too good to be true, right? Well, it is... for now.  This little beauty is a Chinese phone, that runs on a special Android OS port, called oPhone, so there's no telling when (or if) this little magical Motorola device will be rolling out across the nation. But, isn't the anticipation exciting? [via Droid-life]

Motorola Cliq Gets Android 2.1 Earlier Than Planned

Apparently, the Motorola Cliq has received Android 2.1. No, not officially (we wish), but as a leaked ROM. According to an anonymous source, there's a leaked ROM that appears to be an official T-Mobile 2.1 variant. Unfortunately, there's still no word on when the final OTA will be ready to go, but we're still leaning towards August.

This one is basically just a Public Service Announcement, because we literally have no information to give you about this. We just got a tip that this image, the one you're seeing right here, is the first screenshot of a working Motorola Cliq running the latest version of Android: 2.1. The model number is certainly MB200, and the System Version does indeed label T-Mobile as the carrier of choice.
