Motorola Atrix 2

Motorola Atrix 2 users get Jelly Bean through official ROM leak

If your phone of choice is the Motorola Atrix 2, then you were probably disappointed to find out that Motorola isn't planning to upgrade the device to Jelly Bean. Last year, the company revealed a list of devices it will be upgrading to Jelly Bean in the coming months, with the Atrix 2 stuck in the column of handsets that are eligible for a $100 credit toward the purchase of a new Motorola phone. That unfortunately means that Jelly Bean just isn't in the cards, so what's an Atrix 2 owner to do?

Motorola ATRIX 2 gets Android 4.0 ICS update today

Today it's been announced that AT&T users with a Motorola ATRIX 2 can now download Android 4.0 on their smartphones in an over the air update. This should help ATRIX 2 users get their devices caught up with some of the latest features Android has to offer. The update is available today, so users can start enjoying the awesome new features right away. ATRIX 2 users will get access to a new browser that includes tabbed browsing, a desktop mode and offline reading. The ICS browser is fantastic, and it is a huge step up from the one previously installed on ATRIX 2 device. The update also includes Ice Cream Sandwich's unlock features where users can open their phone directly to camera, text messaging or other apps. Android 4.0 also helps users control their data usage, and let's be honest, with AT&T being known for throttling users' data, this is important. It has all kinds of charts that help users see exactly what they are using and manage it properly. The ATRIX 2 will also have access to the new People app, which greatly improves the contact screen. To download the update over the air, ATRIX 2 users simply go to Settings > About Phone > System Update. From here, users can download the ICS and get access to all the awesome new features. This is yet another step in increasing install base of the newer Android OS, and that is always a good thing. [device id="1734"]

You'll see about 9 fixes, and of them improved picture clarity delivered from the camera will be most noticeable.

Android Community Weekly: November 6, 2011

We've had a great week of tech reviews, hands-on/unboxings, and development for this first week of November! First, we started off our work week with an excellent review of the Motorola ATRIX 2 by Michael Crider. An unboxing of the HTC Rezound was then performed by Cory Gunther soon after. After seeing ads of the HTC Rezound show up in Verizon Wireless stores, you can be sure to see this device soon. It was officially announced to the public Thursday, and around the same time we released our own hands-on round-up.

Motorola Atrix 2 now available, just $49 at Amazon

The Motorola Atrix 2 might be one of the faster follow ups we've seen in a while, but its still a great smartphone and is available now from AT&T. Press shots gave us our first solid look back in September and the Atrix 2 was officially announced at CTIA. The original was released less than a year ago, and now the new Atrix 2 is available from AT&T and for only $99. Any Atrix owners feeling a little down?

Motorola Atrix 2 available next week at Costco

We haven't heard a lot about this device lately but Motorola is all set to roll out and ship their new smartphone for AT&T, the Motorola Atrix 2. It has leaked a few times over the past few weeks but we never saw much of it until just recently. Then at CTIA this week Motorola announced it will be for sale starting October 16th. As usual Costco has a few different things in mind and will most likely be undercutting AT&T with a better price, and bundled accessories, so you might want to hold off until we see what they have in store for the Atrix 2.

Motorola Atrix 2 leaks again, more details and pictures revealed

Internally known as the Motorola Edison we now have even more pictures today of the upcoming Motorola Atrix 2. The next version of the Atrix was first leaked way back in July and was being called the Atrix HD so we are still up in the air regarding the actual name. With a few design changes and a new placement for the AT&T logo this looks to possibly be the final version we should see hit the shelves soon. More details and pictures after the break.
