We had know Motorola was planning to release a wood back option for the Moto Maker customized Moto X, however the availability date had been a mystery. Motorola stepped up with a bit of teasing earlier in the week, however they kept the availability details under wraps. But as we often see, teasing is followed by a release. And well, the wooden backed Moto X is now available through Moto Maker.

Moto X Moto Maker estimated shipments slip to 13 days, weather to blame

The Moto Maker website once had an estimated delivery of just a few days. But it looks like that estimate has slowly been creeping up. Several readers commented on Monday about how the estimate was sitting at 8 days and it looks like that has been pushed to 13 days as of today. The delay is as a result of the Moto X assembly plant being located in Fort Worth, Texas and the recent storms that have been affected much of the country.
