Bamboo backed Moto X arrives with Moto Maker

We had know Motorola was planning to release a wood back option for the Moto Maker customized Moto X, however the availability date had been a mystery. Motorola stepped up with a bit of teasing earlier in the week, however they kept the availability details under wraps. But as we often see, teasing is followed by a release. And well, the wooden backed Moto X is now available through Moto Maker.

Moto X Moto Maker no longer an AT&T exclusive

Putting an end to the rumors and early sightings, Motorola has opened up the Moto Maker customizations for all four major US carriers this morning. Or in other words, customers outside of AT&T are now able to move forward and purchase a customized Moto X. Otherwise, the Moto X is priced at $99.99 on a two-year agreement and at the moment, the Moto Maker site is reflecting an estimated delivery of four days.

Verizon Moto X price drops to match other carriers

Late October brought a price cut for the Moto X. The price was cut in half dropping from $199.99 on a two-year agreement down to $99.99 (still with a two-year agreement). This price drop hit several carriers and also included those purchases made through the Moto Maker customization site. Though, the Moto Maker remained exclusive to AT&T. The catch was, not all carriers lowered the price at the time.

Moto X Moto Maker off-contract pricing sees a drop

The Moto X saw a price drop last week, though, at the time that only included the on-contract pricing. That meant the handset dropped to $99.99 on a two-year agreement, while the full retail price remained at $579 and $629 for the 16GB and 32GB models respectively. And well, similar to the $100 drop for on-contact purchases, the off-contract price has dropped by $100.
