AT&T tweaks data plans, gives us more for our dollar

AT&T has apparently started a restructure of their mobile data plans and have done a bit of tweaking. My title is a bit misleading and so our the prices. While we'll be getting more for our dollar, we will also be paying slightly more even if we don't need it -- and there's nothing you can do about it. AT&T is nudging the price of all their plans up a notch but are giving us a little extra data in return.

Verizon CEO confirms family data plans coming in 2012

While many family plans are available to share minutes and text messages the option to share data across the entire group is still not available. I'd have thought we'd see this already but apparently not. This week at at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference, Lowell McAdam, CEO at Verizon had a few updates regarding the matter. He notes that it only makes sense for family plans to be able to share data and have a single bill and that after 2 years of work toward account-level pricing, Verizon may finally be ready.

ESRB content ratings wont be coming to Android or Mobile apps

The Entertainment Software Rating Board is something plenty of parents are familiar with. As kids I'm sure many remember or still deal with these same rating being plastered on everything we buy for Xbox, PC's, Mac, and more. They are the group that helps moms save their children from bloody or bad age-appropriate games and things on the interwebs.

Microsoft lets Android users try Windows Phone 7 — sort of

I know many of you loyal readers and Android enthusiasts would never even dream of switching to Windows Phone 7, nor would I. Today we have learned that Microsoft thinks showing off their phone user interface for everyone to see and try themselves might help their chances. I must admit this is actually an awesome idea. Spar Zephyr Bluetooth speaker jams out to music, charges your phone

We have an awesome new accessory for Android devices to tell you about today. A company called Spar has just announced three new Bluetooth speakers in a new line called Zephyr. They'll be offering the Zephyr 550 (biggest of the bunch) with 30 hours of playback, the Zephyr 500 with 18 hours of playback, and the 300 offering 12 hours and all of this from a single charge. What makes these special you ask? The Zephyr will also charge your device via USB port when needed or while you're on the go.

Yes you read the title right, that says 100% bug powered smartphone and that is exactly what we have. Today Qualcomm has presented us with the "Bug Circus Generator" where they've neatly gathered a few speedy Praying Mantis and tossed them on unicycles and a Tarantula on a treadmill and rigged them to generate tiny amounts of electricity. What do you get? A 100% bug powered smartphone thanks to the extremely efficient Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.

It appears Mickey Mouse has found his ears and came to his senses with Disney set to launch two new Android smartphones. Today on the official Adobe Blog Adobe has outlined plenty of what we will see in the future. With Flash Player 11, AIR 3, 3D and console quality gaming and more all across multiple platforms and especially mobile, all thanks to Flash 11 and AIR 3. According to Adobe these updates will bring the “next generation of immersive apps across platforms including Android, iOS (via AIR), BlackBerry Tablet OS, Mac OS, Windows, connected TVs and other platforms.”
