Huawei promises showstopping smartphone for Mobile World Congress

As previously stated, Huawei is making a big push towards high-end smartphones worldwide, and in the United States in particular. In a bit of non-specific PR relayed to GSM Arena, the company promised to unveil "our smartest, fastest and most high-performing smartphone yet" in an event just before the start of Mobile World Congress in February. Consider our interest thoroughly peaked.

Android/MeeGo Aava Mobile Medfield Phone Confirmed

Last week a MeeGo prototype was shown off at an Intel sales conference. It was only shown for a moment by senior vice president and general manager of Intel'd Ultra Mobility Group, but there it was. What was this super secret phone? According to Aava Mobile speaking with SlashGear, this phone is ready to be shown off at Mobile World Congress in less than two weeks (we'll be there). But what IS IT?! It's a 8.9mm-thick touchscreen smartphone that runs both Android and MeeGo.

Facebook Denies Phone Rumors, Again – Hints at HTC Utilizing APIs

The Facebook phone has been long rumored. Last year at the Facebook press event, the speculation was that the company would officially release a branded phone, these were shot down by the company who stated they were going to focus on the software side of things. However, recent rumor has hit the net of an HTC Facebook branded phone, and these too have been denied by the company. Tegra 2 3D Chips Coming Spring 2011

NVIDIA was huge in the mobile marketplace at this year's CES with the official unveiling of their Tegra 2 platform to be included in "Super phones." And now, according to a leaked slide from their upcoming Mobile World Congress presentation, they will have a Tegra 2 3D chip ready for Spring release.

Samsung Mobile Announces both Mobile World Congress “next evolution” and a February 1st Tease

Take a look if you wish at the site whose title last year at around this time told us of a lovely future for Samsung, eventually giving us the Samsung Galaxy S. This year it's sending word of the idea that "EVOLUTION is FATE" - whatever that means - and that on February 13th, something is coming. They note that there's going to indeed be a revealing of the "next evolution in Samsung Mobile" and that - wowie - There's going to be a preview teaser on February 1st. Stay tuned!

Canada Doesn’t Care About the New Galaxy Tab

Really. They don't even care at all. Why else would they only offer up a $100 discount to their Bell Samsung Galaxy Tab when the fabulous businesses like US Cellular who is doing a Valentine's Day 2 for 1 deal, or Sprint who slashed their Tab down to a mere nubbin - $300! Clearly Canada plans on taking some of my stash of old Tabs that I requested upon the announcement of the new Tabs at Mobile World Congress.

Playstation Phone Xperia Play to be Carried by Orange UK?

So it appears that some "industry sources" have spoken with Mobile Magazine and have told them that Everything Everywhere will be singing with Sony Ericsson to range the brand new PlayStation Phone (aka Xperia Play.) The device will more than likely be placed on EE's "Premium" brand in the UK: Orange. The device is also thought to be launching next month at Mobile World Congress.
