T-Mobile intros new no contract mobile broadband plans
Today T-Mobile has officially announced their new no contract mobile broadband offerings. Just in time for summer it looks like T-Mobile will be offering some decent 4G mobile broadband services for those that don't like to sign contracts. The new plans and pricing details below will be available from T-Mobile starting May 20th. They might not be the best prices around, but for no contracts I think some will like what they have to offer.

XCom Global Huawei 3G USB Modem Review
Earlier this year the folks from Huawei were nice enough to offer up some of their USB 3G E176G Dongles with XCom Global data for the team to use while we covered all things Android at Mobile World Congress back during February in Barcelona Spain. If you enjoyed all the news, coverage, and hands-on from the largest mobile event of the year brought to you by us, it was all powered by Huawei's modem. For those times our phones weren't capable of a hotspot, XCom Global saved the day, and the event.

AT&T Launching 4G LTE Devices Next Week, Just Not Phones
You'd be correct if you were wondering if AT&T had launched their 4G LTE network yet and thought to yourself, no they haven't. That is because so far they've only been testing a few small areas and networks but nothing official has been launched. Next week AT&T will be launching their first 4G LTE devices and don't get too excited because they aren't smartphones or tablets, but we will however be seeing a 4G LTE mobile hotspot and a USB Modem coming on August 21st.

Verizon Extends Free Use of 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot on Mobile Devices Through July 6th
Show of hands - how many of you thought that your use of the internet hotspot you were able to activate on your HTC ThunderBolt, DROID Charge, and LG Revolution was a limited time offer? Indeed this offer was supposed to be finished quite soon, (tomorrow, in fact), but has instead been pushed out until July 6th, 2011. What happens then, you might ask? You'll have to start paying for that service you hold so dear. The note we've been passed by Verizon states that though a $20/GB plan had been in place, either a new offer will be sent or the Mobile Hotspot will be de-activated altogether. Harsh!

We Have Them! 4G LTE Modems from Google I/O
Yesterday at Google I/O, everyone was handed a blue card which was good for a free Verizon Mobile Hotspot and a SIM card, and gave three months of complimentary service from Verizon. At the time, conference goers were told that they could pick up the gear Wednesday afternoon. This morning at the keynote, Vic Gundotra let us all know that the blue card went with a 4G LTE mobile hotspot. So, here we are on Wednesday afternoon, and guess what?

Verizon LTE blows the doors off Sprint’s WiMax in testing
In head to head speed tests pitting Verizon's LTE 4G network against Sprint's WiMax network, Verizon has come out on top. The test was conducted on the HTC Thunderbolt for Verizon and the HTC Evo sitting in Sprint's corner. The test, which was a regimen of 1,000 basic speed tests in New York City. The phones were also used in hotspot mode to measure speed connections via the iPad 2 and a Toshiba Laptop. In the end, the results are pretty impressive.

Verizon DROID Incredible 720p HD recording & 3G hotspot incoming?
Looks like the Verizon DROID Incredible isn't quite ready to be overshadowed by the incoming DROID X.  Over at AndroidForums, a user with a test Incredible has supposedly spotted a firmware update that adds 720p HD video recording and 3G WiFi hotspot functionality to the HTC-made smartphone. That certainly isn't available on the DROID Incredible presently, and HTC have been tight-lipped about the potential for their inclusion when asked previously.  No word on when - or indeed even if - the new firmware will get rolled out to general users.
