Unspoken Tales tries to bring deeper games on mobile

There is no dearth of games available today for mobile devices, on Android or iOS. But there are still some gaping holes in the mobile gaming that keep it from reaching its full potential equivalent to that of PCs or consoles. That is a hole that a new company by the name of Unspoken Tales wants to fill by bringing what it considers hardcore, story-driven games to tablets.

App Annie: Game app spending on the rise, digital media spending up 30%

App Annie and IHS have released their latest numbers, and there is one overriding narrative: we love media. Our spending on digital movies, games, and apps rose 30% in 2013 when compared to 2012, with mobile app spending seeing a steady upward trend. Spending in and on apps was dominated by games overall, with some countries a bit lot more into the genre than others.

Freemium gaming on the rise

The App Annie 2013 Retrospective report has recently been published and it is showing some interesting trends in terms of mobile gaming. The first deals with the types of devices players are gravitating towards and the second deals with the freemium model. We often associate the freemium model with gaming, however the report also shows this is also growing on the non-gaming side.

Gameloft has been keeping pretty busy this year when it come to releasing Android and iOS game along side big hit blockbuster movies. After dropping a game for Spider-Man and Men In Black III they look to follow that trend by releasing a game for one of the most anticipated movies of the entire year. Batman's The Dark Knight Rises is coming to theaters, and so is a game from Gameloft.

Temple Run popular iOS game heading to Android next month

For us in the world of Android we might not see or hear about some of the fun games over on that other platform, but occasionally they have some hugely popular games that haven't quite made their way to Android yet. Take Temple Run for example. It's been the top iOS game for a few months and has seen over 20 million downloads. I'm happy to report it will be landing on Android next month.

EA’s Real Racing 2 hits the Android Market — looks amazing

EA has just released their newest and best racing game yet in Real Racing 2. In case you've never heard of the first one that is because it wasn't available in the Android Market so many users never played that decently fun game. Real Racing 2 brings things to a new level and brings tons of racing awesomeness to the palm of your hand. EA is calling this "the most hotly anticipated racing game ever made for Android". Hopefully it lives up to that line, see the video and screenshots below to get a better idea of what to expect.
