O2 Germany listing the Motorola MILESTONE for €550
So, many of you reading this post are already enjoying the Verizon DROID by Motorola, good for you! But people in Germany are getting ready to get some DROID love too, in the form of the Motorola MILESTONE of course. Lets not act surprised, after all, we already knew that O2 Germany was getting ready to launch the new Motorola Android smartphone. Soon, the GSM version of the DROID, the Motorola MILESTONE will be arriving to Germany, and O2’s site in that country is already telling the world about it. The MILESTONE is now being listed on said site for the price of €549.99 ($816). Now, from what we can tell from O2's Germany site, the MILESTONE is available to order now. But, when will it ship? Well, we’re not sure, but if we belive the rumors, it should be really soon. One interest bit of info on O2's site is that the MILESTONE comes with an 8GB microSD card, and, as we all know, the Motorola DROID on Verizon comes with a 16GB card. Why the MILESTONE has half of the GB as the Verizon DROID? We don't know, however in the MILESTONE’s case, Western Europe mapping data for use with Motorola’s own MOTONAV turn-by-turn directions comes preloaded on that 8GB microSD card. If you live in Germany - or even here in the US - and want to know more about the Motorola DROID/MILESTONE, read our AndroidCommunity full review by clicking here.

It’s official: Motorola milestone is the european droid
Okay, so November seems to be the Android month of the year, Motorola Europe have officially announced the Motorola MILESTONE. Which is the GSM version of the Verizon DROID, and will also run Android 2.0. The MILESTONE has been confirmed for Germany and Italy on at least two carriers; Vodafone and O2, according to Motorola Germany. Now, the Motorola sites are mum on release date or pricing for the MILESTONE, but the latest rumors have the release date for November 9th. Also, the new Moto device will be priced at €404.20 ($595) before taxes for business customers, according to those rumors. The Motorola MILESTONE has support for 900/2100 UMTS/WCDMA and quadband GSM, but other than that, the hardware specs seem to be identical to the Verizon DROID. Now, as we all know by now, the DROID will go on sale by the end of this week, Friday, to be exact. The MILESTONE by Motorola will ship with the MOTONAV software, which offers 3D Landmarks and a trial version - yes, unfortunately just trial version - of EASY SEARCH, LANE GUIDANCE and POINTS OF INTEREST. But hey, it will have something the DROID doesn't have; Multitouch.

Motorola’s GSM DROID, the MILESTONE coming to Germany via o2, adds multitouch
While here in the US, Verizon is having a blast with their Motorola DROID pre-release, across the pond, in Germany, people are also getting excited about the same Motorola device, but in Europe, it will be called the MILESTONE. So far, there is no word whether the Motorola MILESTONE is an exclusive to O2 in general, or just in Germany. And nobody is saying if it will be available on other carriers. O2 will have the MILESTONE in Germany, but that's not all the good news for our cousins from Europe. The thing is, apparently, the GSM version of the Motorola DROID, will have multitouch support in Android 2.0. Now why would the MILESTONE have multitouch capabilities and the CDMA version - the Verizon DROID - won't is a mystery. Mobile-Review’s Eldar Murtazin has posted a video of the Motorola MILESTONE in action - check it out below. If you pay attention to the video, you'll notice that it doesn’t appear to have that function added or modified by Eldar. Maybe it was a decision made by Motorola? Well, anyway, according to the leaks, the handset will arrive on O2 Germany as soon as November 9th.

Verizon DROID by Motorola gets a Hands on over at SlashGear
As we all know, this week is DROID week, and if you did not get a chance to check out the Droid site from Motorola last friday, before it was pulled. Well, do not fret, the good fellas over at SlashGear got a hands on with the famous device from Motorola. There isn't a full review of the Verizon DROID by Motorola just yet, since it's too early for that. So instead, the SlashGear crew was in a session with Verizon, Motorola and Google to discuss the first Android 2.0 smartphone of the year. Which has a nice 3.7-inch 854 x 480 capacitive touchscreen, that dominates at first glance. Talking about the display, SlashGear expects the AMOLED display on the Samsung Moment to be the best of the Android phones. But the DROID mounts such a vivid and bright display, with "eye-popping colors", that it will give the Moment a run for its money. A full review will be here soon, where we will know how the DROID by Motorola hold its own. But it is already looking as a great device. If you want to see more pictures of this hands on, head over to SlashGear to check them out.

Will Verizon have its own Hero in the form of the DROID Eris by HTC? Apparently, Yes
Apparently, the DROID by Motorola is not the only Android phone that Verizon will be launching in November. According to the latest batch of leaks, the Verizon DROID Eris by HTC will be big red's second Android phone and will be priced at $99.99. According to a leaked screenshot over at AndroidGuys, it appears that staff over at Verizon are already being trained on the technical details of the DROID Eris. This new Android phone will have the same 528MHz Qualcomm processor as other HTC Android models, and will also run Android 1.5. Over at phoneArena, they got a hold of more images of the DROID Eris, which confirm the 5-megapixel camera with no flash. However, the phone does have WiFi, and the camera has autofocus. So, as you can see, it looks like the Eris would be Verizon’s version of the HTC Hero, since those specs do match with what’s available on Sprint and in Europe. The latest leaks also tipped a November 6th for the lauch date of the DROID Eris, with a price - as we mention before - of $99.99, After rebates and with a 2 year agreement, of course. What do you think? Will Verizon launch 2 Android headsets from 2 different companies on the same day?

GSM version of Motorola DROID caught on camera
The Verizon DROID by Motorola may be getting all the headlines today, but we're already wondering when the smartphone might show up in GSM form.  One such device has already made an appearance in a Tinhte.com video, and while there's no extra detail about the DROID itself - bar the SIM card - it's certainly whet our appetites. Of course, what the video can't tell us is when the GSM DROID might arrive in the US or Europe.  An AT&T-friendly version has been tracked crossing the FCC's path already, though, so we're hoping it'll be sooner rather than later.
