Droid 2 Global Officially Confirmed by Verizon through Facebook

Holy sheepstuff! Verizon just officially confirmed the epic Droid 2 Global on their Facebook page (although, if you're the sort of person who already knew you could order them online for a couple weeks now you'll be less impressed!) But here's some specs anyway: the Droid 2 Global will run you $199.99 after a $100 mail-in rebate (debit card) with a 2-year contract (new 2-year activation and data pack required.) It's got a 3.7" touchscreen, it's 60.5 x 116.3 x 13.7 mm, weighs 169g, and has a QWERTY slider. Droid 2 Global comes with a 1400 mAh Battery, battery door, wall / USB charger, 8GB onboard memory and 8GB pre-installed MicroSD card.

If the upcoming keyboard-less Motorola Droid X isn’t your cup of tea, Verizon has you covered with the next incarnation of the Droid. This time around the Droid 2 was spotted at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (NASA). Gizmodo had a spy planted at the event and he was willing to give us all his first impressions of the device.

(Rumor) Samsung Galaxy “Tape”: Early Specs Revealed

More news of the latest member of Samsung’s Galaxy family is starting to flow in. this time around a Vietnamese site by the name of Tinh Te, is claiming to have information on a few specs. If they are true this will be a pretty impressive tablet. Samsung has a history of being able to deliver hardware pretty quick so the wait for this slate may not be as long as most.

Droid 2 Finally Exposed – Video

Up until now all we’ve seen of the droid 2 is a blurry picture that didn’t even show the entire front of the device. Now we finally get a clear look at the full handset. There’s even a video of the boot screen and you can clearly see that it has a full QWERTY keyboard. It looks almost identical to the original droid that we all know and love.

There hasn’t been much coverage on this device since it’s not available here in the US. It may never make it over here but in Europe (mainly France) this is a very popular handset. It has been rooted by none other than Paul aka Modaco.

Altek Leo 14MP Android with HD video and optical zoom?

Ok I’ll be the first to say it, all these high megapixel cameras on cell phones are ridiculous and I love it. Altek announced the first 14 megapixel camera phone, it’s called the Leo and it could come equipped with Android. If this does in fact turn out to be an Android phone, it will without a doubt have the best camera available on any Android device, maybe even the best camera on any phone in general.
