Samsung Galaxy Indulge brings 4G Android to MetroPCS

MetroPCS has announced its second 4G LTE smartphone, and this time around it's Android doing the honors. The Samsung Galaxy Indulge is a 3.5-inch Android 2.2 Froyo slider packing 4G connectivity along with the 1GHz Hummingbird processor. Specs are relatively basic, with a 3-megapixel camera and Bluetooth, but the Galaxy Indulge is really all about the pricing. MetroPCS will be offering unlimited data for $60 per month on a non-contract basis, while the phone itself is $399 (again, with no agreement). It'll be in stores later this week. MetroPCS Leaks First LTE Android Phone, the Samsung SCH-R910

What an exciting name, huh? It's just the model number, we're sure there'll be a snappier name on the way. This lovely looking phone from the future comes in the form of a photo snapped by a contributor to BGR, a photo which pictures the phone in a slightly blurry pic (as always) that also seems to confirm that this device will only be working on Android 2.2.

Boingo WiFi app comes loaded on MetroPCS Android smartphones

Boingo Wireless has been around for a long time with its vast network of WiFi hotspots around the country that allow users to surf the web and save their data plan bandwidth. Boingo has announced its first carrier pre-load deal that puts its app on Android smartphones from the carrier.

Huawei Ascend for MetroPCS Launched for $179

Despite the fact that the Huawei Ascend, an Android 2.1-equipped entry-level device, just launched on Cricket, it looks like MetroPCS wanted to get in on the action as well. Unfortunately, they weren't able to match the Cricket price. However, the device, as should be expected, is the exact same. Featuring a 3.5-inch HVGA display, and WiFi connectivity, the Ascend may not be the brightest Android star, but it's certainly not the worst.
