Meizu MX3 leaked images surface with talk of specs

The Meizu MX2 went on sale for those in China last year. That model was a follow-up to the MX1 and keeping with the apparent naming tradition, it looks like details and images of the Meizu MX3 have surfaced. This isn't the first time talk of the MX3 has surfaced, however this is the first time we are seeing clear crisp images of the front and back.

Those folks from Meizu are back with a brand new smartphone to take on the competition. Their first phone was pretty impressive and this time around they're aiming for the top spot in China. Just announced is the all new Meizu MX2 complete with pretty impressive specs and hardware all for a good price. This isn't just a Chinese knock-off smartphone either. It has all the makings of a top end device.

Meizu schedules ICS update for MX and M9 in June

Meizu, the little Chinese phone manufacturer that could, is still basking from the PR glow of its MX Quad-core announcement. But they want to make sure that owners of the older MX and M9 phones don't feel left out of the party. In a press release today, they stated that both phones will be getting the same version of Android 4.0 software as the MX Quad-core. Well, sort of: they're both getting "Flyme OS 1.0", Meizu's skinned version of Ice Cream Sandwich.

Meizu MX hits China, masses line up at local stores

The Meizu MX finally launched today in China and Hong Kong to great fanfare. Pre orders have been offered and strongly encouraged since December 15th in an effort to quell the very large crowds that waited to buy a M9 last year. Stores notified customers that had pre-ordered the phone, last month, to come in and pick them up. Crowds appeared outside the stores today nonetheless, though not as large in number as last year.

Meizu MX quad-core smartphone coming in May 2012

We've heard plenty about the new Meizu MX smartphone lately and now its been officially confirmed that the quad-core version will be hitting the streets at some point come May 2012. We first heard of this phone back in August with rumors of a Q3 2011 launch but that ended up being way off. Today Meizu CEO J. Wong confirmed they'll be releasing the second, quad-core version come this May.

Meizu MX launches January 1, 2012

Meizu just broke the ice and finally announced its 2012 flagship smartphone, the MX. Headed to mainland China January 1st, expect an initial cost of ¥2,999 ($470). It will pack some serious power from the included 1.4GHz Samsung Exynos 4210 dual-core processor and 1GB RAM. It will also sport a 4” ASV display with a 960x640 pixel ratio. Initially, the device will only be available with 16GB of internal storage, but expect a 32GB version later on.

Meizu M9 and MX will receive update to Ice Cream Sandwich

While I'm sure the news for all things Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich will keep coming in over the next few months, we are now getting confirmation from another company, Meizu, that their line of smartphones will be updated to the latest and greatest. Earlier this week Meizu CEO Jack Wong casually mentioned on their forums that many of their top devices will receive updates to ICS.
