What are ultrapixels? HTC shares more details on their new camera

HTC made a daring move with their brand new flagship smartphone the HTC One. They introduced it with only a 4 megapixel camera. At first you might be thinking they're crazy when others all offer 8MP, and new devices are rocking 13MP cameras and beyond. However with cameras, especially smartphones, it isn't the quantity that counts -- it's the quality. The term 'ultrapixel' is just their way of saying that the quality of the sensor beats the rest with big numbers.

Much of the HTC related chatter lately has surrounded the M7 smartphone. We have seen countless leaks including some image and some spec related. And on the more entertaining side, we have even seen HTC CEO Peter Chou lead a crowd in a chant of HTC M7. Anyway, included in those spec related rumors was the mention of the handset having a 13 megapixel rear-facing camera.

Now that the Samsung Galaxy S III has enjoyed a few months in the spotlight, it's time to start in on the Galaxy S IV rumors. We already got the rumor mill churning with the claim that Samsung would reveal the Galaxy S IV at MWC 2013, but today it's all about the camera baby. According to Korean site Newstomato (via Samsung-Updates), a 13-megapixel camera module has been spotted online, and it's headed directly for the Galaxy S IV.

This isn't the first time we've heard rumors or ideas regarding an Android camera, but this could be the real deal. Reports are suggesting this will be the first of possibly many from Nikon.

Samsung Galaxy S for AT&T leaks?

Technically the name for this device is the Samsung i897. Rumors have it, this is AT&T’s version of Galaxy S. they both share almost identical specs and looks. No launch date has been leaked yet but it looks like it’s really close to production.

Altek Leo 14MP Android with HD video and optical zoom?

Ok I’ll be the first to say it, all these high megapixel cameras on cell phones are ridiculous and I love it. Altek announced the first 14 megapixel camera phone, it’s called the Leo and it could come equipped with Android. If this does in fact turn out to be an Android phone, it will without a doubt have the best camera available on any Android device, maybe even the best camera on any phone in general.

T-Mobile Garminfone Coming June 2nd?

If you’ve heard that date before it’s because the myTouch 3G Slide will be releasing on the same day. Engadget received this leaked screenshot of the Android powered Garmiphone. This screen not only outs the pricing for this handset but also the release date.

Samsung Galaxy 5 Spotted in The Wild

Samsung has another Android device in the works, the Galaxy 5 or the GT-I5500 will be hitting the streets soon. This little device packs in Android 2.1 along with a few other features. This device hasn’t really been covered much with all the excitement around the EVO and the Galaxy S so it may be something new for most of you out there.
