Google Sky Map updated v1.5

This is without a doubt one of the coolest apps of any kind on any platform. The latest update just made it even better. There is now a picture gallery with photos taken from the Hubble Space Telescope. This app now has "Magnetic Correction" to fix the angles of the stars to more accurately depict how it would look if you were looking directly at them. I highly recommend this app for any Android user.

PodKast Audio & Video for Android

This is arguably the best podcast app for Android. It has the ability to display video as well as traditional audio podcasts. New podcasts are being added all the time and you can save them to your SD card. Most of the popular podcasts are already available in this app. This app is still in beta but you wouldn’t be able to tell from the quality of it. It’s a free app available in the Android Market.

Vonage for AT&T and T-Mobile

Seemingly out of nowhere Vonage has just entered the Android game. Usually when a company as big as Vonage has plans of introducing a new app there is some sort of press release or even beta testing before hand. Not Vonage, today they released and Android app that is only available for T-Mobile and AT&T Android based handsets.

CallTrack Lists All Calls On Your Google Calendar

For all you people that love to be organized, this is a great app for you. This app will log every call you get or you can select a particular number to log. It’s a very lightweight app and when you open it, all there’s only a few options to choose from. So if you like bells and whistles, this may not be for you. But if you’re like me and want to get right to the point, then you’re going to love this. It’s a free app but it’s only available to Android 2.0.1 and up devices.

iTriage: Is Now Available For Android

Created by Healthagen, iTriage is a medical reference application. This is another port of an iPhone app, we have seen a lot of that lately as more and more developers are seeing the potential of Android. This app is one of the most useful apps available for Android.

Obama for Android – App

The developers at Swiss CodeMonkeys bring to us a new app called ‘Obama for Android’. Although he did admit that he likes Blackberries, I’m sure he has an Android device stashed somewhere on his person. Now you can follow all the news from our President. There are even YouTube videos and his twitter updates included in this app.

Asphault 5 For Android

Raging Thunder 2 may have been knocked off as the best 3D racing game for Android with the introduction of Asphalt 5 by Gameloft. The graphics of this game are some of the best that I have seen on Android. A few disadvantages of this game are, there is no multi player option and it costs over a dollar more than Raging Thunder 2 and it works best on second generation hardware. Some people say that this game doesn’t play well on the Nexus but it plays just fine on mines.
