Muzei update brings design update, Android Wear watchface

Live wallpaper app Muzei has received a massive update, with version 2.0 receiving a design upgrade to look compatible with the Material Design of Android 5.0 Lollipop. It also now comes with a watch face for your wearable so that your smartwatches running on Android Wear will look just as artsy and creative as your smartphone.

Asus launches two new wallpapers for Android users

Asus has launched a pair of new wallpapers for Android users called Asus MyOcean and Asus DayScene. The MyOcean wallpaper is a live wallpaper with the level of the water in the ocean tied to the battery level of the device. That means a glance at the water level will tell you how much power you have left.

nowPaper 2.0 now has Muzei extension, new wallpapers

nowPaper, a wallpaper collection app, has announced the release of version 2.0, which now includes support for live wallpaper app Muzei, and a collection of new designs that have been inspired by the landscapes and cities from Google Now’s backgrounds. Your Android devices can now sport these amazing-looking designs on your home screen, and you can even set them to reflect the time of day.

Google Play Edition camera and wallpapers arrive [Download]

After Google released the completely stock Android 4.2.2 powered Samsung Galaxy S 4 and HTC One "Google Play Edition" phones to the Play Store yesterday, many were excited to see a few neat new things. The devices have a custom (Android 4.3) looking Camera, one which will probably head into the Play Store (like the keyboard) as well as the red phase beam live wallpaper. iOS 7 “parallax effect” on Android: 3D Image Live Wallpaper available now

During the Apple keynote yesterday we saw a lot of interesting and exciting new things with iOS 7, many of which have been available on Android for some time, but we won't get into that now. The most impressive new feature and UI aspect (for me) was this "liveliness" 3D wallpaper doing the parallax effect. Showing the background image move as you tilt the device. If you are using a device that is capable of capturing Photosphere images, you may want to check out this recently released live wallpaper app. The app is called Photosphere Live Wallpaper and it comes by way of Kittehface Software. Those who pay attention to live wallpaper apps probably recognize the name. This particular live wallpaper app is available by way of the Google Play Store and is free to download and free to use.
