T-Mobile LG Optimus L9 Jelly Bean update paused

Jelly Bean began rolling out for T-Mobile users with an LG Optimus L9 a few weeks earlier. As of today however, that update has since been placed on pause. The details are coming by way of T-Mobile, who have said the update was placed on pause by LG. The silver lining here is the use of the word pause. Of course, we suspect those still rocking Ice Cream Sandwich may be a bit disappointed.

LG announced Jelly Bean for the international variant of the Optimus L9 back in mid-March. That update began rolling out immediately as was expected, however it left things up in the air for those with a T-Mobile branded Optimus L9. The good news has arrived though, T-Mobile has begun updating the Optimus L9 to Jelly Bean.

Back in early February LG confirmed that many of their latest devices would soon receive the update to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and we've been waiting ever since for a few to arrive. This afternoon LG has just delivered one of many and the international LG Optimus L9 is getting Jelly Bean as we speak. Sadly there's no news regarding the T-Mobile version.

iF product design awards presented to several LG smartphones

Several of the Android smartphones from LG were presented with iF product design awards for 2013. In all, this list includes the Optimus Life, Lucid 4G, Optimus G, Optimus L7, Optimus L9 and Optimus LTE2. With the exception of the Optimus Life and the Optimus LTE2, these were all design awards in the smartphone category.

LG recently began teasing in advance of Mobile World Congress and while we wait to see what they have planned for the show, it looks like they have also started teasing some current device owners with an update. Specifically, teasing those with an Optimus 4X HD, Optimus L9 and Optimus L7 with Jelly Bean. The details are still at a minimum, however if you happen to be carrying any of those three devices -- an update is in the works.

LG has certainly been on a roll recently. They made Google's newest Nexus smartphone, the Nexus 4, and they released their new flagship device, the Optimus G, just recently on AT&T. However, LG isn't just about the high-end game. They came out with a set of mid-range Optimus devices throughout the summer, and their latest one is the Optimus L9, which was released through T-Mobile on Halloween. We ended up getting our hands on one and decided to run it through its paces to see if it's worthy of the $79.99 price tag. Let's see how it fared.

Just a heads up if you've been waiting to get your hands on the LG Optimus L9 - the new handset has officially launched at T-Mobile. The L9 doesn't fetch too steep a price, which makes it a good choice for those who need a decent handset on the cheap. Make no mistake, the L9 isn't going to be burning up the benchmarks, but it should be a suitable device for those who don't need to have the latest and greatest.

Today T-Mobile has confirmed when customers will be able to pickup the new budget-friendly LG Optimus L9 smartphone from the carrier. After a few leaks it was announced earlier this month by both parties. The folks from T-Mobile have just confirmed October 31st the smartphone will be in stores and online.

Leaked T-Mobile release roadmap gives away LG Optimus L9 launch date

It's been a revealing day for T-Mobile, at least if the latest leak from TmoNews is to be believed. A new roadmap is giving us possible release dates for a bunch of devices, including the LG Optimus L9. According to the roadmap, the Optimus L9 should be hitting T-Mobile's shelves on October 31, so if you're a T-Mobile customer who has been waiting to get their hands on an L9, you might not have much longer to wait before it becomes available.

Today the folks from LG have re-introduced their popular L series smartphone, the LG Optimus L9 for T-Mobile. This smartphone was announced earlier this year and has been available internationally, but now will grace the 4G speeds of T-Mobile USA. Complete with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a 4.5-inch display -- this should be a quality mid-range phone coming "later this fall."
