LG Optimus Zone tipped as upcoming entry-level Verizon handset

Verizon Wireless recently released the LG Lucid 2 as a free on-contract device and while we were generally pleased with that handset in the time we spent with it, we are not entirely sure the same can be said about another entry-level device. The latest is the LG Optimus L3, which is said to be coming to Verizon as the LG Optimus Zone. Keep in mind though, we are talking about the Optimus L3, not the Optimus L3 II.

LG Optimus L7 on its way to Rogers

We saw the entire new LG Optimus L-series at this year's Mobile World Congress, and even had some hands-on time with each of the three. Rogers has confirmed that the Optimus L7 will be part of its 'Smartphone Lite' category. In case you aren't familiar with their Smartphone Lite package, it's tuned for people that use the data features on their phone sparingly. There still isn't any information regarding when it will launch or its price, but at least we know it's coming.

LG Optimus L3 to get Europe launch this month

The lowliest of LG's Mobile World Congress reveals is still a pretty slick little device, and those of you in Europe won't have to wait long to get your hands on it. The company announced that the budget-minded Optimus L3 will gets its debut in Europe later in March, with Asian and American releases to follow. There's no word on a price tag, though the unlocked version should be priced well below the going rate for Android phones, given its light emphasis on specifications.

It's not all specifications and benchmarks - sometimes you've got to throw a little style into the mix. Such is the case with LG's L-series, the Optimus L3, L5 and L7. These phones take their stylistic cues from the collaboration between LG and Prada, and it shows - their deem, glossy black and angular corners scream "fashion phone" more than any other current Android competitor. But can they hold their own as, well, phones? Read our hands-on form Barcelona to find out.
