LG Mobile event set for May 1st – Optimus G Pro incoming

It looks like the folks from LG are looking to shake up the launch plans for both the HTC One, and Samsung's GALAXY S 4. Today they've just issued a set of "Save the Date" event and announcement invitations confirming they'll have something on display come May 1st in New York City. We have a few guesses as to what smartphone they'll release so head on past the break for more details.

LG Optimus G Pro Value Pack update gets a video walkthrough

We may still be waiting for additional details in terms of a wider global release for the Optimus G Pro, however LG appears ready to begin rolling out an update. The update has been dubbed the Value Pack Upgrade and LG has recently shared a three minute plus video detailing what can be expected. The teaser for the video notes the update as bringing some "cutting-edge eye recognition features."

LG Optimus G Pro headed to AT&T in May

Last year LG released a powerhouse smartphone the Optimus G for AT&T and a few other carriers, and it was quite successful. Now just a few short months later it looks like they are already set to one-up the smartphone as their recently announced Optimus G Pro with a massive 5.5-inch 1080p display is rumored to be headed to AT&T next month.

LG Optimus G Pro announced for Japan

LG has officially released the Optimus G Pro for those in Japan. The handset will be available by way of NTT DoCoMo and while we have seen plenty on this particular smartphone, this one is arriving with a slightly different display. You see, instead of the 5.5-inch display, the NTT DoCoMo variant will have a 5-inch display. While smaller, the display is still Full HD in resolution.

AT&T LG Optimus G Pro looks to have landed with the FCC

This latest FCC filing does not specifically mention the Optimus G Pro, however it does mention the LG E980. The key here though, the LG E980 is believed to be the AT&T version of the Optimus G Pro. Given we have already seen an official announcement, not to mention, spent some hands-on time with the handset -- lets get into the parts about this being a model for AT&T.

LG claims Samsung infringed on its eye-tracking patent

LG and Samsung are looking to go to war not only in the mobile phone marketplace, but in the courtroom as well. LG claims that Samsung has infringed on its eye-tracking patent with its Samsung GALAXY S 4. The Samsung GALAXY S 4 has the "Smart Pause" feature that pauses videos when your eyes aren't looking at your phone's screen. When it detects that your eyes are looking back onto the screen, it will resume playback.

Today it looks like the folks from LG have one-upped and beat Samsung to the punch with a brand new feature for their flagship Android smartphones. What is this new feature? Eye tracking and recognition that will pause and play video when it recognizes you look away from your device. LG Pocket Photo Printer hands-on with Optimus G Pro
