LG Optimus 3D Max clears the FCC – headed to AT&T
LG's looking to release another glasses-free 3D smartphone and while we've heard tons of names and leaks, it will officially be known as the LG Optimus 3D Max. We got our first official look at the new 3D phone at Mobile World Congress (linked to below) and now we are seeing it clear the FCC on its way to AT&T. Sadly it appears to only be rocking 3G and HSPA+ speeds, no 4G LTE here.

LG CX2 phone leaks in new render, including 3D screen
Remember that stretch of a few weeks in 2011 when everyone was thrilled about lenticular 3D displays? LG does, and would like you to think that it's still every bit as exciting. That's the inescapable conclusion behind the LG CX2, AKA the Optimus 3D 2, newly leaked by ETnews.  The phone is likely strutting its three-dimensional stuff prior to an official debut at Mobile World Congress. According to the leak, the new screen greatly improves both the 3D effect and legibility, thanks to an IPS-based screen.

LG Optimus 3D to be succeeded by the 3D Max
LG's Optimus 3D had two rear shooters capable of taking 3D video, and now the company plans on offering a successor some time in the near future. As of now, it will be called the LG 3D Max. As you can see, 'Optimus' has now been removed. The new device should not only sport a couple better rear shooters, but other upgrades as well.

LG CX2 photo leaks: Next dual camera 3D smartphone for LG
For those that thought the entire dual camera 3D idea for smartphones was just a fad and something that would quickly pass -- maybe it wont. But CyanogenMod 7 (gingerbread) is still going strong, and many a satisfied user is running the latest nightly on his or her smartphone. Following in the footsteps of some Sony Ericsson phones last week, a handful of LG models are getting official nightly support from the CyanogenMod team. The LG Optimus 3D, Optimus Pro, Optimus Hub, Optimus Black and the LG Thrill will all be getting nightly ROMs while CM7 is still in active development.

ICS ROMs start appearing, Galaxy S II and Optimus 3D get it first
We told you that it would only be a few days after the source code dropped that Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs would begin to come out. Lo and behold, some extremely sleepy custom ROM builders have already got Android 4.0 running on retail hardware. The first two devices to see early ports are the Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 3D.
