If you’re a fan of LG smartphones it looks like another one of their upcoming handsets has leaked today along with a few specs. This phone is being called the LG Cayenne and comes with a full out 5-row QWERTY keyboard along with a 4.0-inch display. The processor or the screen size aren’t anything top-tier but hey lets check it out.

While none of the specs are what we’d call top-tier or up to par with a few of LG’s recent showing this phone should make all the keyboard fans plenty happy. The phone is essentially the LG Viper 4G LTE but with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and a keyboard. The screen is 4.0-inches and only 480 x 800 in resolution. The processor is the older Qualcomm S3 1.2 GHz dual-core with 4G LTE for the Now Network, and it will probably sport the same 5 megapixel camera.

The picture is pretty blurry and doesn’t really reveal much. One good thing here for this phone is the fact that it will be launching with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the gate, rather than waiting for an update. No other details or dimensions are available at this time but I’m sure we’ll be hearing more soon about this 4G LTE device for the Now Network. All those fans of the original Epic 4G should be happy to see this coming.

Leaks galore for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich the past few weeks. If you are rocking the LG Nitro HD for AT&T you’ll be happy to know that for the few owners of said device, Android 4.0 ICS has leaked in an official build and is available now. We are hearing good things although this is still an early build, but it’s worth checking out.

According to the guys from XDA the build is actually quite stable and appears to be running great on the 4.5-inch 720p rocking smartphone. It was actually the first 720p Android phone on AT&T if you remember. The leak appears to also be working for users of the Nitro on AT&T, Bell, and even Fido for those up in those parts.

Some flashers have reported problems with losing their IMEI numbers for their phones so you might want to use caution. Then again this is a leaked build so you should always use caution when flashing something of this type. Good news is battery seems to have actually been improved with the ICS leak so that might push a few into upgrading early. Hopefully this will be officially released soon but for now head to the via below to get started.

So, have you been trying out S-Voice, the brand-spanking new (and totally original, we swear) voice app snatched from the Galaxy S III? If you haven’t yet, then you needn’t bother: Samsung has begun blocking server access for all phones that aren’t the Galaxy S III – and since the phone doesn’t officially release for another week, that’s all of them. So far Samsung has made it clear that the feature is an exclusive to their new flagship.

Oh well, it’s not like you’re missing much – the app only worked on Ice Cream Sandwich devices anyway, and it seemed like all it wanted to do was give you the weather. At present Google Voice Actions is a lot more useful, especially if you know your way around its commands. If S-Voice is Samsung’s way of differentiating itself from Apple, they’ve got a lot of work left to do.

Naturally, this isn’t dissuading some users. A few modders are trying the old build.prop adjustment to fool Samsung’s servers into thinking they have a Galaxy S III, with at least some success. Of course, that could cause problems with the Google Play Store and other apps that require device authentication. Seriously, folks, just do without S-Voice – Siri is a toy at best, and this is just the knockoff.

If you’ve got an Android 4.0 device or ROM and a burning desire to try out the latest Siri clone, you’re in luck: an XDA Developers member got his or her hands on the APK for Samsung’s S-Voice. This combination of Google’s voice recognition engine and heuristic computing got the lion’s share of the attention for the new version of TouchWiz, which debuted with the Galaxy S III earlier this month.

You’ll need an Ice Cream Sandwich tablet or smartphone, but thankfully not a Samsung one, to try it out. Our quick experimentation shows that it works well enough. As far as utility goes, it’s about as useful as Siri – which is to say that if you give it just the right command and you’re speaking clearly in a low-volume area, it’ll usually give you a vague version of the answer you’re looking for. Currently it seems very inclined to give you the weather and not much else.

The post says that you’ll need to copy the app into your System/App folder and alter the permissions, but I’ve had success with simply installing the app via the standard non-market way. At present it isn’t much better than using Google’s standard voice recognition with search – those of you who were hoping for a “Siri killer” will be disappointed. Here’s hoping that Samsung can improve it before the Galaxy S III’s European release in a couple of weeks.

Another official build from Motorola and Verizon for the popular DROID Bionic has been leaked recently. Sadly we are still waiting for the official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Bionic, and now that seems to be pretty far off. When we are still seeing Gingerbread builds leak, that can’t be a good thing for the Android 4.0 ICS progress.

According to the details from the folks at Droidfurms this Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread build doesn’t appear to do much, and didn’t even bump the Bionic to 2.3.6 or 2.3.7 Gingerbread. With the DROID 4 seeing an ICS leak recently many were hoping the Bionic was next but that still isn’t the case. Almost every other new Motorola DROID phone has seen an ICS leak, but none have been officially updated yet.

Verizon and Motorola list the update as build 5.9.905 for the Bionic, and with soak test invites for an update going out a few weeks ago it looks like this might be the final version ready for users. From the comments it appears to be quite minor, possibly preparing the Bionic for Android 4.0 ICS to arrive later. Other than that there’s a few battery saving updates as well as better 3G/4G hand-offs and general performance. You can give it a try, or wait for the official update which should arrive shortly.

OK, so “flesh” probably isn’t applicable for a hunk of plastic, glass and silicon, but you get my drift. BriefMobile spotted the latest of The Now Network’s new devices and got a candid photo of the LG Eclipse 4G LTE that leaves nothing to the imagination. The flagship-level device is expected to his retailers in the latter half of this year.

According to the rumors, the Eclipse will feature a massive 4.67-inch display (almost certainly using a 720p IPS panel from LG), a quad-core Snapdragon processor, 2GB of RAM (just like LG’s Optimus LTE 2) and 16GB of on-board storage. The battery will be an impressive 2100mAh, roughly matching the Galaxy S III. Presumably this guy will launch with an LG-customized version of Android 4.0.

Based on the specs lone, I’d say that the Eclipse 4G LTE sounds like an American version of the Optimus LTE2. That would fit LG’s current pattern of doing some extensive customization for American carriers – both AT&T’s Nitro HD and Verizon’s Spectrum are branded variants of the original Optimus LTE. But The Now Network gets an important leverage: the addition of NFC, all the better to use with Google Wallet.

Man, LG is just piling on the flagships at this point. In addition to the Optimus 4X HD and the new Optimus LTE2, BriefMobile has spotted what they’re calling the LS970, a previously unknown LG model with some super high-end components. Chief among these is a quad-core Snapdragon S4 processor, which we can only assume is the much-anticipated Krait – the source identifies it as the APQ8064 chipset.

Other impressive numbers include 2GB of RAM (matching the Optimus LTE 2) an odd screen with a size of 4.67 inches and a resolution of 1280×768, and a non-standard LTE radio specifically for The Now Network. Following the trend, LG has put a 13-megapixel camera on the back. The processor runs at 1.5Ghz on all four cores, with an Adreno 320 GPU pulling graphics duty. While no mention of software was made, we’d certainly expect this one to launch with Ice Cream Sandwich.

The source says the phone will come to market as the Eclipse 4G LTE, which is certainly possible given The Now Network’s tendency to throw established manufacturer branding right out the window. It’s also set at 8.6mm thin. The rumored release date is in the fourth quarter, so we could be looking at a very different device if and when it hits retail shelves.

If you’re an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note owner jealous of the international model’s shiny new official Ice Cream Sandwich update, you can take solace in yet another Android 4.0 leak for the American version. BriefMobile got their hands on the official software and posted it for download. If you’re running the older version, you may want to upgrade: the newer ROM brings significant bug fixes, though it’s far from perfect.

The leaked AT&T ROM from April was build UCLD3, while this build is UCLC5. There’s no additional features and it’s still Android 4.0.3, but the performance and stability of the newer software is testified by plenty of users already. The annoyingly constant force closes of the previous build seem to be fixed. Apparently it still needs a little more time in the oven, because for some reason Instagram doesn’t work. Flashing it will require a Windows PC, and unfortunately you’ll lose all the data stored on the phone so far (not to mention root privileges if you’ve obtained them).

Naturally, the upgrade is offered with no guarantees and plenty of caution – flash at your own risk. Those of you who are custom ROM junkies may want to skip the official updates entirely and try out some of the latest CyanogenMod 9 nightlies. On the Galaxy Note in particular they’ve added support for the S-Pen stylus and generally tidied things up. As always, remember to make a Nandroid backup.

We’ve already seen HTC’s Verizon flagship Rezound get a leaked official Ice Cream Sandwich build, but it’s been so long that another is apparently ready as well. The latest Android 4.0 version is build 3.13.605.7, and the folks over at Android Police have hosted it for download. Unfortunately there are a few issues for would-be flashers: you’ll need a stock ROM and a locked bootloader or an S-OFF device. Those of you who used HTC’s official bootloader unlock will have to sit tight or find a ROM Update Utility (RUU).

There are numerous changes for this latest Ice Cream Sandwich build, though it’s still running the only slightly outdated Android 4.0.3. It includes a new kernel and new radios, though apparently the Rezound software is still a long way from completion. A few bugs noted already include random reboots, issues with the WiFi hotspot feature, a darkened camera in some apps, and problems with Exchange account verification.

The official update has been promised by both Verizon and HTC, but we’ve still got no definitive idea of when it’s coming. Best Buy played a cruel joke on Rezound owners when an internal document indicated that the Ice Cream Sandwich update was coming in April. This latest ROM may indicate that we’ll have to wait a while longer. According to a leaked Verizon document, Ice Cream Sandwich testing will end on May 9th.

Verizon has finally started pushing out the update to Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich for the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, or so that is what we are hearing the past 24 hours. If the update hasn’t hit for you yet, or you’re running a custom ROM we have the latest radio that comes with the update available for download.

Many Nexus users are probably still on the Android 4.0.2 update, and some might be using the leaked 4.0.4 from a few months back but the newest version rolling out today is said to seriously improve 3G and 4G hand-offs and improve signal strength. Users will see faster 3G/4G switching and in return — improved battery life. You can wait for the update yourself, or if running a custom ROM (CM9, AOKP) or many other different ROM’s you can simply flash the file below in recovery.

This is a ZIP and needs to be flashed in a custom recovery like TWRP or Clockworkmod, not fastboot, and will replace the CDMA, LTE, and bootloader files. As a warning the CDMA takes well over a minute so if it seems to be taking too long just let it finish. We are hearing this works with ANY Verizon Galaxy Nexus build and I’ve flashed it myself and seem to have similar results as before, but will report back later as I use it throughout the day.

Download and flash the latest Android 4.0.4 IMM76K radios for the Galaxy Nexus (Thanks to XDA) and let us know how your speeds and 3G/4G goes in the comments below.

A popular South Korean screen protector manufacturer by the name of Colorant has just released their USG (ultimate screen guard) protector for the new Samsung Galaxy S III. With the announcement only days away we will know all the details soon, but these new pictures show what is likely the official size, shape, and design for the Galaxy S III. It matches the recent leaks we’ve reported and are linked to below. Check the pictures out after the break.

The folks from Unwired HK have posted multiple pictures of the new screen protector sitting on top of multiple phones that aren’t the Galaxy S III. Obviously it doesn’t fit but you’ll see an excellent comparison between the original international Galaxy S II (4.3″), and even the new 4.7″ HTC One X. This basically confirms the name, Galaxy S III, the size, 4.8-inch, and the shape of the screen — which matches the multiple leaks we’ve posted about all week long.

Looking at the comparison shot from the gallery below of the screen protector over the HTC One X and its 4.7-inch screen we have reason to believe the SGSIII will in fact launch with a 4.8-inch screen. Being slightly longer and having the dedicated menu button lower than HTC’s capacitive buttons. Obviously this is only a rough estimate, but the pictures give you a real idea of what to expect once this phone is revealed come May 3rd.

For now you’ll want to check out the pictures and links below, but be sure and stay tuned right here at Android Community as we’ll be live in London for all the news, coverage, pics, and video of the brand new Galaxy S III as it gets announced.

Yes, yes, we know: another Galaxy S III “leaked photo”. But this time we’re actually pretty confident that you’re looking at the real deal here. The reasons are threefold: one, this pic is courtesy of SamMobile, a dedicated Samsung site that’s been reserved and accurate before. Two, it’s sitting in what looks like a squared-off “dummy” case, not unlike the one seen in that leaked video from Vietnam. And three, the shape of the buttons and the bezel matches both the leaked manual outline and the preview image that Samsung posted to Facebook.

Visually, the device looks pretty much like we’d heard: a large screen somewhere in the range of the Galaxy Nexus’ 4.65-inch Super AMOLED, with the typical Samsung controls flanking a more angular and flared home button. The software shot shows the Samsung-customized UI that was so flagrantly absent from this latest fake, as well as the “GT-I9300″ model number and Android 4.0.4. According to the source, both the phone and the software are specific to the Brazilian market.

If you’re still skeptical, we wouldn’t blame you – the Samsung Galaxy S III has inspired more speculation, leaks and downright fakes than the latest iPhone. But you won’t have to wait long to put your suspicious mind to rest: Samsung will officially reveal “the next Galaxy” on Thursday, May 3rd. Naturally, Android Community will be there live to cover it.

Another day, another purported Galaxy S III photo. We’ve been tipped with this convincing shot of the upcoming Samsung superphone, which follows the bullet points of the latest rumors. There’s reason to doubt, though: the phone in question is presented a little too perfectly for our jaded blogger eyes to believe. In any case, we should find out what the real thing looks like in less than a week when Samsung reveals the Galaxy S III at its London event on May 3rd.

So what’s wrong with this picture? Let’s start with what looks right: the sides are parallel and follow the general look of this leaked diagram, as do the home, menu and back buttons. The general layout is very similar to the Galaxy S II, which makes sense, except it’s got a larger screen and the control buttons, speaker and camera are squeezed into less space on the front panel.

So what’s wrong? One, the screenshot is suspect. Why take a photo of the SpeedTest.net app instead of the Galaxy S III home screen, complete with TouchWiz? Why do the wireless, battery and clock icons look identical to stock Ice Cream Sandwich, when we know that Samsung likes to add its own flair? And why, if the cameraman is taking a photo, is there a screenshot icon in the status bar? The simplest answer is that this is a screenshot taken from a Galaxy Nexus or another stock Android 4.0 ROM.

Issues with JPEG artifacts around the bezel and where the screen edges meet the casing are also suspect, though these could just be from the relatively low resolution of the photo itself. No mention of screen size, Exynos processors, camera megapixels or what have you accompany the photo. We’re calling fake on this one, though we’d love to be wrong. Just six days left before we see the real McCoy.

While we’ve seen various documents suggesting the update is coming soon, including the testing schedule leaked yesterday, we now have what could be the final Ice Cream Sandwich build. It has leaked and will be available soon.

According to the folks at Droid-Life this latest version of Ice Cream Sandwich for the RAZR’s leaked last night, and as you can see has a build date of April 26th so is brand new and very fresh. Reports are stating that it is being looked over by the lucky few that received it, and will be released for everyone to download and enjoy shortly.

We are hearing users will need to be on the latest official over the air update version 6.12.181 that started rolling out late last week in order to flash this latest build. That update prepared the phones for ICS, and now they just need to let it loose. Motorola and Verizon could be in the final stages of testing Android 4.0 ICS for the RAZR, and it should officially be here soon but stay tuned for download links to the leak as they’ll be available shortly.

Update: and here is the download link and instructions courtesy of Droidrzr.

Earlier this morning the top-tier Sony Hayabusa leaked giving us additional details and even spotted on camera, and now we have one more. This leak though, shows us the low-end and is the previously revealed Sony ST21i Tapioca budget smartphone. It won’t be winning any design awards but might be a winner for your wallet.

The Tapioca and Hayabusa both should be released sometime in July if this leak is accurate, and now that both are starting to appear things could be right on time. The spec’s are reported to be pretty low-end just like previous reports for this Xperia. Coming with a 3.2-inch screen, an 800 MHz single-core processor and only 512MB of ram this will be for the budget crowd, that is for sure. At least it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich though right?

Looking at the picture provided it surely has a bulky design and they are cutting some corners on design to probably make this as budget-friendly as possible. With the odd design it could also have a keyboard under the display, or as the leaked roadmap linked to above suggests — a Tapioca DS (dual-screen). Until we see more leaks we’ll have to wait and wonder, but we might be seeing a dual-screen budget phone from Sony in the coming weeks or months.

Whoa! This one will need to be almost instantly tossed into the rumor bin but we wanted to toy with the idea for a minute and imagine the possibilities. The Nintendo Wii isn’t something we really talk about here, except for modding the Wii-motes for Android usage. Some new reports are hinting that it could very well have Android OS integration, or be completely based around Android.

The reports are coming out of VG 24/7 although we are hearing some high-level Android developers were tweeting with Nintendo folks recently and that has stirred up the rumors too. This seems far-fetched to say the least but if those tweets ever make it to the public eye we could be in for a treat.

Whether the Wii U would be completely based off of Android, or just have some parts integrated into the device is unknown. We could see Nintendo take the same approach that RIM has done with their Playbook and try to get Android apps and games working on the game console, but that is pure speculation. Nintendo hasn’t been much of a supporter of Android, iOS, or mobile gaming at all other than their own products, so I’m taking this with a huge grain of salt. Other non-Android rumors mention a dashboard similar to Xbox and PS3 with multiple options like NetFlix, YouTube and the rest of the goods. Then some rumors about an impressive version of Metroid will be released too, but we’ll leave that to the non Android sites.

Thoughts? Would the Wii U running on Android interest you? Or would you buy it if Nintendo offered Google Play Store support for Android apps and games?

The HTC Droid Incredible 4G is pretty much a done deal at this point; all we really want to know is when Verizon will release it and for how much. But there’s at least one surprise left for the mid-range LTE phone, and Reddit user Krimit04 found it when talking to a surreptitious Verizon rep. When he popped off the battery cover, he spotted the unmistakable electrical ribbons coming out of an NFC chip. Just don’t expect Google Wallet to come pre-loaded on the Verizon device.

He then tested out Ice Cream Sandwich’s Android Beam feature, and found that it works without a hitch. Other details noted by the Verizon representative were a QHD screen and an available extended battery, which will launch with the DROID Incredible 4G. The HTC MediaLink was also on display, with a rough release date of “May” – that could mean we’ll see the latest Incredible next month.

The DROID Incredible 4G is shaping up to be a modified version of the HTC One S, with (from what we can tell) a similar Snapdragon S4 processor, 4.0-inch screen, and Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 4.0. Some of the changes include a plastic body with a removable battery, a smaller 8GB capacity plus an empty SD card slot, and of course access to Verizon’s LTE network. These changes have made the design considerably chunkier than the One S at 11.6 millimeters.

Ah, there hasn’t been enough news lately about the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch lately – my fingers were just starting to recover. An enterprising XDA user named “sfhub” has posted what seems to be an official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Now Network phone, compatible only with the specific version of the device. The leak comes after various international versions of the Galaxy S II have been updated, not to mention leaks for AT&T’s Galaxy S II and Galaxy S II Skyrocket.

The update comes in the form of a one-click Odin desktop install, so you’ll need a PC in order to apply it. The XDA poster has kindle pre-modded the software to grant root (which pretty much anyone who installs a leak will want anyway) and offers it in a “clean” version that wipes your current ROM or an upgrade version that keeps your user data intact. The latter may cause problems with some apps, so for a worry free experience I’d recommend a clean flash.

Early user reports are positive; the software seems nearly complete. No major issues with the core Android and TouchWiz experience have been noted by flashers, though the update process is confusing if you’ve never used Odin before. If you’ve already rooted, remember to make a Nandroid backup. There’s still no word on when the OTA update will arrive.

We’re sorry about the overabundance of Samsung Galaxy S III news on the site lately. Wait, no we’re not – we’re just as excited as you are. The latest tidbit comes from SamMobile, who got their hands on what appears to be a scan of a portion of the Galaxy S III’s service manual (using the previously reported GT-I9300 model number). While the black-and-white diagram of the phone looks pretty close to what we’ve seen before, the specifications clash with both Samsung’s official Exynos 4 Quad announcement and results spotted in the AnTuTu benchmark database.

How do they differ? Let me count the ways. First, a quad-core processor is mentioned, but at a slightly higher 1.5Ghz clock speed than the Exynos 4 Quad. The screen is 4.8 inches, again, just slightly larger than we’d heard before (4.6 and 4.7 inches). A 8 megapixel camera is a disappointing step down from the 12MP sensor noted in AnTuTu. Other mentioned specifications stand up to reason and rumor, like an unspecified version of Ice Cream Sandwich and an HSPA+ mobile connection.

It must be said that this sort of thing could be faked easily, and the Galaxy S III seems to be particularly prone to less than honest tipsters. It could also be from an earlier build of the service manual, before the final phone specifications were finalized – the clock speed of the processor would be particularly easy to change, for example. We won’t have to wait too much longer to find out: Samsung announces “the next Galaxy” on May 3rd at the Mobile Unpacked event in London, and Android Community will be there live to cover it.

Update: SamMobile has added a sketch of what looks like the back battery cover. Feast your eyes:

As the Google and Oracle trail continues we just keep seeing loads of interesting information regarding Google — and more specifically Android. You could call this a treasure chest of information. While Google’s earning calls quarterly always discusses revenue company-wide, this is showing earnings and numbers specific to Android.

Now these numbers only represent Android and Google’s revenue from 2010, so things have clearly changed since then, not to mention many of these numbers are forecasts and predictions for that year. Looking over the data made available to the public from the case you can clearly see some interesting numbers. In 2010 there was around 20 million android devices in June, and by the end of 2010 they expected the numbers to double past 40 million. This would earn them about 278 million in revenue.

An interesting part of the findings also reveals that apps didn’t play a large role in their earnings, and probably still don’t. In 2010 Google made $158.9 million on ads and just a lowly $3.8 mil on app sales. The slides also forecast Android making Google almost 1 billion in 2012 from ads alone, but clearly we don’t have those numbers at this time.

Oracle recently announced that they figured Google is making around $10 million daily from Android in 2012, times that by 365 days a year and that will give you an idea — but that number came from Oracle and not Google. Similarly recent reports suggested Apple makes Google four times as much as Android does. Given the details released today Apple barely beat out Android in 2010, only be a few million with Android hitting 278m and Apple’s iPhone netting 281 million for that year. Interesting stuff, but there’s tons to break down so we are up to our neck in details.

It’s worth noting that Google predicted they’d earn around 1.5 billion from Google Music in 2012, and that would increase to 3.7b by 2013. I wonder if we’ll ever find out those actual numbers. For more details head to the source link below.
