There is no denying T-Mobile customers would love Galaxy Nexus from the carrier although many are using the GSM unlocked version at this time. T-Mobile hasn’t announced anything regarding a possible T-Mobile Galaxy Nexus but a recent twitter post by their good friend and pro skater Tony Hawk might have revealed their plans. Posting a picture on twitter with the Galaxy Nexus and the words “I love T-Mobile”.

Really, this could mean anything. He could be like thousands of others on T-Mobile that bought the international version. Or he could be extra special and received an official T-Mobile Galaxy Nexus early. The reason this is in the news today is because Tony Hawk has been a partner with T-Mobile for years — all the way back to the Sidekick days. They even released an officially branded Tony Hawk T-Mobile Sidekick at one point. Their relationship remains strong and he could be teaming up with them again with this next major release.

Being an Android site and loving T-Mobile we are optimistic and are assuming it’s a T-Mo version. This could all just be speculation and hopefully we’ll get some clarification from T-Mobile soon. If this was all planned it sure would be some sneaky and smart marketing — getting the interest peaked before an announcement. We’ll have to just wait and see. You can see the silver on the bottom right, ruling out the thought of this just being the T-Mobile Nexus S.

Maybe this is nothing and he’s just showing off his unlimited data. Who knows.

HTC just can’t keep a lid on its new workhorse model, code-named the HTC Ville. The phone leaked in render form months ago, then in a surreptitious spy video showed the slinky phone running Ice Cream Sandwich. The Ville has once again popped up before its debut, this time in a series of blurrycam photos from Japanese site Ameblo. They don’t show anything we haven’t seen before, but the photos confirm the design, including its impressive thinness, a first among HTC’s usually chunky smartphones.

The Ville is expected to be HTC’s mid-range entry for 2012, matching the relative market location of the Sensation in 2012. Leaked specs include a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor, and a 4.3-inch QHD screen with an AMOLED panel. Details on other phone specifications are scarce, but the device is said to be a mere 8.9mm thin – a record for HTC, and admirable even in today’s crowded market. Naturally the phone runs Ice Cream Sandwich with HTC’s Sense 4.0, though you’d be hard pressed to spot the differences from these photos alone.

The smaller size and lower power of the Ville contrast with the HTC Edge, expected to have a 4.7-inch screen, Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core processor and a 720p screen. The Ville’s relatively mid-market status gives credence to the idea that we’ll see it first on T-Mobile in the US, probably replacing the Amaze 4G. While there’s certainly something going on at HTC’s pre-MWC event on February 26th, there’s no telling what it might be – though the quick removal of a previous version of the Ville video indicate that the company would prefer you don’t know about this phone just yet. See you in Barcelona.

Man, somebody at Samsung is just giving it away to modders and custom ROM enthusiasts. For the third time since the open-source code for Ice Cream Sandwich was released back in November, an official beta version of the Samsung Galaxy S II Ice Cream Sandwich update has found its way into the hands of some eager fans, this time over at SamMobile. The cheeky guys there say that the newest build, dated January 29th, is ready for regular daily use after a collection of improvements. The build number for the latest leak is I9100XXLPB.

Among the observed changes in the firmware are better battery, faster animations and other general speed, and a 3D effect when changing home screens, not unlike the stock Ice Cream Sandwich launcher. Samsung’s TouchWiz is still very much present. Between the speed and battery improvements, this build will be good enough for most modders to use as their daily driver ROM. You can install it via the standard Odin or custom recovery methods; SamMobile required an account on their site to access their files, but you can probably find them elsewhere if you look hard enough.

A little editorializing: three leaks for the same software in less than two months is surprising, even for the rabid Android crowd. So, either someone inside Samsung is consistently leaking firmware under the table (in which case I’d expect that person to be found rather quickly) or these software leaks are intentional, at least on some level. Samsung knows that there’s a gigantic community of advanced users, so why not take advantage of it? I think Samsung lets these builds leak out discretely, observes the community reaction and adjust accordingly. Rinse, repeat, and you’ve got a team of free, excited beta testers thousands strong, who have all joyfully voided their warranties. If true, I think it’s a great idea. Just a little speculation.

ASUS recently launched their Transformer Prime TF201 Android tablet, and are set to release a budget 7″ slate later in Q2. New leaks today however have us wondering if we’ll be seeing a third slate from them this year. New images of what is being called the ASUS TF300T have leaked. Is ASUS preparing a new Eee Pad Transformer to replace the original, and be priced under the Prime? More details below.

This new TF300T is shown next to a certification document with a time stamp of January 19th 2012, which might mean this tablet could be revealed in the coming weeks or months — possible at Mobile World Congress in Spain. The image below you can clearly see it has been labeled the TF300T but we are still searching for more details on this slate. Most likely it will feature a quad-core processor like the NVIDIA Tegra 3 but we have no details and can’t confirm at this time.

What’s interesting here is the design. The radial spun rounded design is similar to the new Prime, yet the weird textured back closely resembles the original Transformer. Making us wonder if this will sit nicely between the two to complete the ASUS tablet lineup. One important note is the rear does seem to possibly be ABS plastic like the original, and not aluminum like the Prime — although I’m not digging that goofy reddish color myself.

There is the possibility this plastic coated back is a sign that the TF300T could be their first 3G/4G equipped tablet that will sit under the Prime in terms of specs, yet offer wireless connectivity for those needing more than WiFi. Stay tuned as I’m sure we’ll be hearing more soon.

Samsung had a pretty weak showing at this years CES show and latest reports suggest they wont be announcing much for phones at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event in a few weeks either. What we do have though is the possibility of two impressive Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich tablets from Samsung. New reports are claiming that Samsung has two quad-core tablets they are preparing and now we are seeing some new Tabs clear WiFi certification too.

While we haven’t heard anything regarding model numbers or naming some recent rumors claim Samsung is preparing an 11.6″ tablet with an amazing 2560×1600 resolution for this February — lining right up with Mobile World Congress. Anything other than Android 4.0 ICS wouldn’t make sense, especially from an Android tablet leader like Samsung. The chances we see some incredible tablets for their MWC announcements this year are quite high.

Shown above is a recent WiFi certification clearing a Samsung device codenamed GT-P3100. The P stands for tablet and for an example the GT-P7510 was their 10″ model and the P1010 was the original 7″ Galaxy Tab. According to some recent rumors from Androinica Samsung is actually preparing two tablets to debut at Mobile World Congress in the P3100 and the better P5100. The latter of the two could be the rumored “retina-display killing” model with that huge bloated resolution. Although I have a feeling something along the lines of the Prime 700 series or the Acer A700 is more realistic. Coming in around 1920×1200 for the resolution.

We have a feeling Samsung will be announcing two completely different models. One with a huge resolution and impressive specs being 10.1″ or even the rumored 11.6 — then another to compete with the likes of the Kindle Fire and the ASUS MeMO 7″ ICS tablet with a budget-friendly price. Stay tuned as we’ll have all the details live from Mobile World Congress.

Exciting news for HTC fans this morning, as one of the two models expected to debut at Mobile World Congress in February has jumped through the loops of secrecy to grace YouTube. The HTC Ville is one of the Taiwanese manufacturer’s “hero” devices for 2012, with impressive specifications, a slim profile and subtle styling. One of the most notable features of the Ville (likely a code name) is that it’s rumored to be one of the first HTC phones to reach retail with Ice Cream Sandwich.

Appropriately, HTC Hub broke the news and brought the YouTube video to the attention of the Internet. The three-minute spy video doesn’t show much – it appears to be the Ville in an office somewhere, probably being tested before a carrier announcement, almost certainly in Europe. While it’s claimed that the hardware on display is a prototype, it looks pretty complete as-is, even including the HTS SENSE tag on the back battery cover. Speaking of which, the skin running on Android appears to be Sense UI 4.0. That implies (but doesn’t guarantee) that the phone is running Ice Cream Sandwich. The software menu states that both Sense 4 and Android 4.0.1 are running. Interestingly, the model on display uses the three Ice Cream Sandwich navigation buttons, but they’re capacitive buttons below the screen.

Check it out for yourself below – unfirtunately, 360p is the best we’re going to get for the moment.

The HTC Ville’s rumored specs are as follows: a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor powers a 4.3-inch screen running at qHD resolution. That’s not mind-boggling by any means, though the Ville is expected to use an AMOLED display panel. The Ville is expected to be the thinnest HTC device to date at just 8.4mm 0 for refference, that’s almost exactly in between a DROID RAZR and DROID RAZR MAXX. Not bad for a company known for rather bulky designs. The Ville is expected to have a formal unveiling at Mobile World Congress in late february, along with the new quad-core flagship, the HTC Edge.

For now we are going to chalk this up as just a rumor or most likely some spoofed information. What we are seeing is apparently some benchmarks ran of the popular NenaMark2 suite. What makes this unique is the device is being listed as the Samsung Galaxy Nexus — only with a new TI OMAP 4470 processor with much, much better graphics and a possible speed of around 1.8 GHz. Interesting indeed. Is Samsung about to pull a Motorola and drop another device so soon?

Now obviously this information can be faked but we’ve seen plenty of benchmark results from NenaMark in the past that have wound up accurate but we’ll still take this with a large grain of salt. Lets break it down though. The current Galaxy Nexus runs at 1.2 GHz on a TI OMAP 4460 with the SGX540 graphics processor. The leak above seems to be running at 1.3 GHz but offers the SGX544 GPU. Something that we know to be coming on the new 1.8 GHz capable TI OMAP 4470 processor.

Back in June TI announced the 1.8 GHz 4470 CPU and stated we would be seeing it hit devices come early 2012, so this could make sense but I’m sure many Galaxy Nexus owners would be extremely upset if their shiny new phones get replaced by something better so quickly. Obviously this could also just be an overclocked Nexus with some information changed in the GPU department so we’ll just have to wait and see. Interesting stuff. Maybe Motorola is rubbing off on Google — which is rubbing off on Samsung and we’ll get a Galaxy Nexus Plus or something.

Look what we have here folks. It appears a build of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich for the recently released Motorola RAZR has leaked to the interwebs. I’ll start by saying this is not for the DROID RAZR, and only for the GSM RAZR worldwide but it’s a good sign indeed. With Moto’s Blur UI barely noticeable I’m a little excited I must admit.

Motorola promised many of their phones would quickly receive updates to ICS in 2012 and the RAZR was definetaly on the list. With this leak coming out we can hopefully see some ports of it soon. This appears to be a pretty early build because we have hardly any of Motorola’s Blur UI present. Some of their icons and a new lockscreen to name a few. Hopefully this is their new approach with nudges from Google to keep things simple but that is doubtful. Some of the icons are in-line with BLUR while the browser icon is the stock ICS, so things look pretty alpha and in early stages.

The new lockscreen looks quite nice and I’m liking it already. I have a feeling this will all see dramatic changes before final release — most likely for the worst but we can hope for the best right? For now this leak is only for the international GSM version and will not work with the Verizon DROID RAZR, but hopefully it will see its own leak soon. More details and pictures can be found at the via below.

New documents have recently been spotted sharing more information about an upcoming top-tier smartphone for T-Mobile. At first thought this was a T-Mo Galaxy Nexus but after taking a closer look it appears this will most likely be the Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G — basically a tweaked and improved Galaxy S II. More details after the break.

Some sneaky readers searching through documents showing UAProf files for Samsung phones noticed one for model SGH-T999 had recently been published. Like mention above the first thoughts were a Galaxy Nexus but with the recent announcement of the Blaze 4G that is most likely what we have here. Recently their Galaxy S II was named SGH-T989 — leading us to believe this is either the Galaxy Nexus for T-Mobile, or the Blaze 4G but most likely the latter of the two.

Original details on the Galaxy S Blaze 4G detailed a large AMOLED display but no size or resolution was given. The news also claimed a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and 8 megapixel camera. The phone has a slight redesign over the SGSII and has a little swoop or hump on the top rather than the bottom. The UAProf files mention a 1280 x 720p HD display on board — which makes sense given most phones have sported something similar as of late.

We’ll keep digging for more information but for now it looks like T-Mo is about to get another awesome smartphone to add to the list that offers similar specs to the Nexus.

An next official build of the Motorola DROID RAZR has leaked, and it is available now for download. Of course, it hasn’t been released by Motorola officially. Now at Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread), your device will be upgraded to 2.3.6. There are a few significant changes in this build, and an LTE radio update will probably be the reason most update now opposed to waiting for a push.

Also updated will be Motorola’s very own user interface, Motoblur. It will add a few applications such as Moto Car Finder and a few other enhancements you early adopters will have to tell us about. To go through with the update, download this file and place it on your external SD card. Placing it on the external card is EXTREMELY important.

After the file is placed in the proper spot, go ahead and turn off your RAZR. Press both volume keys in and then the power button. Once in recovery, press both volume keys at the same time again. Look for the file you just downloaded on the external card, and select to install it. Select to “Reboot System Now” after the installation, and your RAZR should be running 2.3.6. For those of you brave enough to give this a try, let us know if this worked for you.

Do note: This will remove root.

For those that thought the entire dual camera 3D idea for smartphones was just a fad and something that would quickly pass — maybe it wont. Apparently LG is preparing their next flagship 3D model to follow up their somewhat successful Optimus 3D. Reports are calling this smartphone the LG CX2 and we have a few press images too.

Lets start with the good details. Those are that LG has managed to make the entire device about 2mm thinner than the original. Making it just under 10mm in thickness and much skinnier then their rival — the HTC EVO 3D. The new LG CX2 will also get a boost in processor speed and rock a 1.2 GHz dual-core TI OMAP 4 series processor. Similar to the 1.0 GHz version on the original Optimus 3D. Now for the bad news — nothing else really appears to have changed.

According to leaks from PocketNow the new 3D capable smartphone will rock the same 4.3″ display although they do mention it to be LG’s NOVA technology but no details on resolution were shared. We are assuming 1280 x 800 like the recent Nitro HD and Spectrum for Verizon. The new device will still retain the 5 megapixel camera rating for both rear cameras — but the auto-stereoscopic features have supposedly been improved upon.

Next up it will still be glasses-free and come with LG’s suite of 3D catered applications and games. The last change is the new LG CX2 appears to also be rocking NFC for mobile payments, tagging, Google Wallet and all those other features that we are still waiting to fully emerge for NFC. I’m still not sold on the entire 3D in smartphones for capture — or playback — but hopefully LG can change my mind.

What you see here is a smartphone from Sony Ericsson that until now was unknown. Recent roadmap leaks put the odd codename “Kumquat” on our maps but now we are actually seeing pictures of the phone. Looking strikingly similar to the recently announced Xperia S the Kumquat will be coming in slightly smaller than its larger siblings and will have a 3.5″ screen. More details below.

The recently leaked roadmap (linked to below) is to be believed then this would be one of the upcoming new devices although nothing has been confirmed. The obvious smaller screen on the image shown above is a clear indicator that not only is this not the Xperia S, but it also has a lower resolution screen by the large icons. According to Xperia Blog the leaked device above will be 3.5″ and have an 854 x 480 resolution.

The Sony ST25i will also sport a 1.0 GHz dual-core processor and have a 5 megapixel camera around back. Looking at the sheer size of the phone in the leaked photo you can see it’s not much larger than Xperia ray we reviewed late last year. This should come in as another mid-range phone for Sony Ericsson, something we’ve seen plenty from them already. Which apparently isn’t holding them over too well given their recent reports of huge Q4 losses of over 318 million.

Either way with this leak, and others we’ve seen over the past week most of these devices will be on display at MWC 2012 in Barcelona and we will get all the details live in Spain.

Okay, so Casio isn’t a name we generally mention in the world of smartphones — let alone high-end ones but some new information has been released detailing just that. In case you don’t remember they released the Casio Commando G’zOne rugged smartphone last year that was able to handle all of the elements, but now they appear to be kicking things up a notch.

Some information has leaked courtesy of Droid-Life regarding a recent focus group of Casio showing off new devices and technology, and to gauge the interest from actual buyers. Like most private things the details have now been revealed and Casio seems to be taking Android, quad-cores, and Verizon very seriously this year — if any of the rumored devices ever get released.

The leaked information talks all about multiple devices from clam-shells with dual screens and more but we are just going to focus on the most important one. And that is the top-tier Galaxy Nexus type device. The unnamed phone was described as having a 4.5″ or bigger Super AMOLED display, quad-core CPU (most likely Tegra 3, and Verizon 4G LTE all coming in around 8mm thin. It also was mentioned to be an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich device. Sounds tasty right? Other specs included an 8 megapixel camera, NFC capabilities, and even a 2,000 mAh battery on board.

The focus group apparently also saw a new Commando G’zOne with a larger screen, possibly 5-inches. It had a similar design and was shock, water, and impact resistant to name a few. We don’t really have any concrete details regarding the information other than this all came from a focus group members memory. Obviously we’ll take all of this with a grain of salt but if Casio wants to release a top-tier device we’ll welcome it with open arms here at Android Community.

Recently some details on an upcoming Sony Ericsson smartphone leaked under the codename MT27i Pepper. We now have not only a few pictures of the Xperia Neo look alike phone, but some NenaMark benchmarks have also revealed all of the specs for this mid-range smartphone from Sony Ericsson.

The image above leaked last week is believed to be the Sony Ericsson Pepper, and now benchmarks today have confirmed the specs that were already being suspected. We have a 3.7″ 854 x 480 resolution display with a single-core 1.0 GHz processor and Mali 400 for graphics. Nothing special here but definitely a great little device for the budget friendly crowd. Here is the benchmark result:

While Pepper is only a codename, we are hearing this device will actually be the successor to the popular Xperia Neo that was released last year. The Pepper will also feature a 5 megapixel camera capable of 720p video. Earlier today Sony’s entire 2012 roadmap was leaked — slating the Pepper for an early April release for around 300 Euros. While nothing has been confirmed at this point, we’ll most likely be seeing this little guy come end of February at Mobile World Congress in Spain.

What do we have here? Some juicy information about upcoming Sony smartphones it seems — 11 of them. Today from the folks at GSMarena we now have a full 2012 roadmap that has leaked with a list of Sony’s upcoming device expected launch dates, codenames, and pricing. Obviously this is only a roadmap and many things are likely to change but lets check it out and break down the possibilities.

Sony recently bought Ericsson’s 50% of the company and have also said they’ll be going “all in” with Android in 2012. All of the above phones will run on Android and will receive different names on launch as these are internal codenames. First off the Nozomi, which isn’t listed as it was announced at CES as the Sony Xperia S (see our hands-on below). It will be priced at €462 to give you an idea of its caliber and what we see listed. It’s fair to assume with that pricing that some of those higher priced devices will be flagship phones from Sony.

We aren’t sure what all will come to the US or not as this is only an early leak (or rumor) but Sony has been trying to tap into the US market more as of late. The Kumquat and Nypon we’ve heard before but details are still scant. On the other hand the others are all new to us here at Android Community. I’m particularly interested in the Hayabusa. For one their motorcycles are blazing fast, have style, and are unique. And two, because it has a beefy price along the lines of the Xperia S.

The rest seem to be priced differently to hit different levels of the smartphone market. Then we also have that MINT being the most expensive on the list. This could be their next big thing and is slated for a September release. The last thing I want to mention is the Tapioca_DS. Could this be dual-screen? or maybe dual-sim. Either way they have two Tapioca phones listed.

It’s safe to assume we’ll see the top 3 all slated for an April release at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Spain late next month. We’ll be there live to capture all the details so stay tuned.

We’ve been seeing a huge shift in Android lately with carriers offering white versions of smartphones. Mainly from Samsung with their all popular and famous Galaxy S II line and recently the Galaxy Nexus. Today we have a few images of the Samsung Galaxy Tablet both the 7″ and 10″ model sporting the color white.

Unlike the recently leaked white Galaxy Nexus the tablets are completely white — that includes the front bezel. Looking at the photos they actually look pretty decent and I wouldn’t mind owning one myself. Hopefully Apple doesn’t come after them for the color — but I don’t think you can patent a color (jokes) although that top picture does remind me of an iPad.

Originally the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1″ was launched with both white and black versions but this was only the part on the rear of the device. Now the entire front and bezel has been given the white-out treatment. No details on when these might come to the states or if they are different models has been mentioned. For now they’ve just been seen a few times in Vietnam according to our tipsters.

Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich is all the rage right now and we’ve been hoping to see it on as many devices as possible. While developers are busy working on ports it appears an extremely early official build for the HTC Rezound has leaked. This is only Android 4.0.1 and isn’t too stable, but it’s a start.

As mentioned above this leak is Android 4.0.1 Ice Cream and has a version of Sense UI 3.5 on board but that is about the only good points worth reporting. For the most part the build is pretty unstable and almost nothing works. This does however give developers a great place to start and we expect to see something come from this soon.

According to the thread over at RootzWiki there are a few different version floating around and we might be seeing a much better version leak soon, one that is also more stable. With something like this that isn’t stable we’d highly recommend you do a nandroid backup or make sure you’re able to restore to original as this isn’t a daily driver ROM. Proceed with caution or else you’ll have a not so functional phone.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen or heard about the white version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but this time it’s not just a rendered press image or posted up on a retailer website. Instead we are seeing live hands-on images of the phone. I know many don’t like the idea of a white phone but just check out the pictures.

Most phones or tablets that have been given the white treatment are actually completely white — that includes the entire front bezel and this is a reason many do, and don’t like the idea. What Samsung has done with the Galaxy Nexus is made the entire device white except for the front.

The entire back and sides are snow white but they’ve left the frontal face completely the same with the black bezel around that huge and vivid 4.65″ Super AMOLED display. Everything else remains the same from this awesome flagship smartphone running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich — only now it’s a purdy white color.

Thanks to AndroidHD we now have actual images of this yet unreleased phone. An entire white phone doesn’t fully appeal to me but this actually looks quite nice. Check out the gallery below and more are available vai the source for those interested.

While we’ve heard a few reports and seen some FCC filings suggesting AT&T was in the final stages of their Galaxy Note launch nothing has been made official other than a few leaked renderings of the device. After yesterdays leak by Anymode (that was quickly denied) we now have full press images showing the AT&T branded Galaxy Note in all its glory.

With all the CES announcements flying around we received the accessory maker known as Anymode’s full list for CES including the official accessories for AT&T’s Samsung Galaxy Note — coming “early 2012″ but early this morning they isued this statement.

“The information was not provided by Anymode, AT&T or Samsung , nor did Anymode, AT&T or Samsung approve it … The issuing party apologizes for the publishing of the inaccurate information and any inconvenience it may have caused”

After seeing that response our friends from PocketNow were able to secure the full press images you see above. Obviously Anymode seems to be backtracking here to protect themselves but if we weren’t sure the Galaxy Note was headed to the US on AT&T before — we are pretty sure now. Most likely all of the official details and information will be released at CES this coming week and we’ll be there live to get it all.

If you thought the Galaxy Nexus and its 4.65″ screen was too big, or have been waiting for it to hit AT&T then you might just want to take a second look at the Samsung Galaxy Note. All the details on the Note including our hands-on pictures and video is available below. Stay tuned for all the CES coverage from Android Community.

Note: The image shows 2/14 on the weather widget — this could be a sign we’ll be seeing the Galaxy Note launch for AT&T mid February.

With all the PR flying back and forth before CES, this was bound to happen. It looks like Droid Life has got its hands on the press release for the LG Spectrum before the intended announcement, which now appears to be Verizon’s branded version of the LG Optimus LTE. In the United States, that means it’s basically identical to AT&T’s LG Nitro HD (try and keep up, folks) with the same 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 720p screen and IPS display technology.

The similarities stack up the further down the specification list you go. An 8 megapixel camera, 4GB of storage space (with a 16GB MicroSD card thrown in for good measure) a gig of RAM and LG’s customized version of Gingerbread all point in the same direction. To help combat the battery-draining effects of LTE, the Spectrum gets a large 1830mAh battery, with an eye-popping 3000mAh battery available for purchase separately. Bluetooth 3.0, 1080p video recording and Gorilla Glass add to the bells and whistles.

On the software side of things, popular keyboard replacement Swype is included by default. Based on the leaked press photos, it’s not clear whether or not the Spectrum uses the default Google search like the Nitro HD… or a cobbled-together Bing search, like the Verizon LG Revolution. Shudder. There’s no price listed, but given Verizon’s patterns as of late, expect this one to retail for $299 on contract when it debuts January 19th.
