Intel releases 64-bit KitKat Kernel, new Chromebook SoC

In China, Intel has revealed their 64-bit aspirations on two fronts. Their newest Braswell chipset is one that will likely find its way into many Chromebooks, while their 64-bit Kernel for KitKat suggests a more mobile approach. Though both are still a bit further out than we’d like to think, it does give a glimpse at things to come.

LG G2 shown running Android 4.4 in new video

Curious what your update to Android 4.4 will look like, LG G2 owners? We don’t blame you. Though being rolled out in Korea, owners of LG’s current flagship are left wanting for KitKat. Promise in “late Q1 2014”, the G2 should have the update within two months or so. If you can’t wait that long, we have a video for you, showing Android 4.4 on a G2.

Android 4.4 rolling out to Verizon DROID users now

After a soak test, Verizon DROID owners are set to get Android 4.4 soon. The update is rolling out gradually, and affects all new DROID devices via Verizon. With that, you can expect your DROID Ultra, Maxx, and Mini to get KitKat soon, but don’t get overly excited. The update comes with a few catches.

HTC vows no further support for the One X+

HTC is noting they will not be supporting the One X+ any longer. Via Twitter, the Taiwanese OEM tells one customer that the One X+ will not receive any further updates, though their wording was a bit misleading. According to HTC, though just over a year old, the One X+ is being relegated to the scrap heap of updates.
