Study: KitKat execution slower than Jelly Bean

Many major OEMs have made the move to KitKat, but maybe not as quick as they did to Jelly Bean. A new Chitika report shows that only about 10% of Android devices are running Android 4.4 or better. In a similar timeframe after Jelly Bean launched, it had a 16% adoption rate.

HTC One Max starting to receive Android 4.4.2 update

The HTC One Max for Verizon is receiving the latest Android update. As expected, the update is starting to roll out today, and is expected to take a few weeks to complete. While users are getting the latest in Android, they aren’t getting a Sense update just yet.

Intel releases 64-bit KitKat Kernel, new Chromebook SoC

In China, Intel has revealed their 64-bit aspirations on two fronts. Their newest Braswell chipset is one that will likely find its way into many Chromebooks, while their 64-bit Kernel for KitKat suggests a more mobile approach. Though both are still a bit further out than we’d like to think, it does give a glimpse at things to come.
