Motorola DROID 4 spotted in the wild, dummy unit looks pretty
We don't really know when the Motorola DROID 4 will hit the market for Verizon customers but original leaks suggested a mid December launch that was pushed back at the last minute. Nothing was confirmed so we can't say for sure. Either way we are still waiting and would love to get our hands on one. In the meantime it appears our friends from TechnoBuffalo were able to do just that -- but with a dummy unit that will probably be on store shelves soon.

Swype Beta updated with Dragon Dictation for voice and support for 50+ languages
Swype has just announced another update for their popular keyboard and users taking part in the BETA can enjoy it right now. The last update was back in November and brought a few awesome new features but this newest update is even better. Swype has now add Dragon Dictation for ultimate voice control and TTS (Text to Speech) since being bought by Nuance. They've also added support for over 50 languages and more.

ASUS Transformer Prime Review
Say hello to the next generation of Android tablets -- that would be quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3 tablets to be exact. With 2011 dominated by the Tegra 2 we expect 2012 to be similar. Ahead of the pack comes ASUS with the worlds first quad-core slate, the Eee Pad Transformer Prime. Being similar to many other tablets around can the Prime boost ahead of the pack and make a name for itself, or will it just be another in the flood of Android tablets? With good looks, a fancy radial spun aluminum design and that ultra-powerful processor we think it will hold its own just fine. Read on below for all the details, video, and pictures you can handle.

Android Community App of the Week: Thumb Keyboard
We cover a lot of app news here on Android Community, but sometimes we like to share the apps that we use day-in and day-out. The apps that we rely on, are entertained by or that just make life easier. This week we're featuring my personal favorite in the wide field of Android virtual keyboards, Thumb Keyboard.

Galaxy Nexus receives MoDaCo custom kernel, courtesy of Paul O’Brien
Paul O'Brien has whipped up a custom kernel for some of our international Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners that will now support keyboard, USB drive, and mouse bluetooth peripheral devices. The kernel is modded, but still very much based on the stock kernel source with a few of the dev's "touches" here and there.

Samsung Captivate Glide review
It seems that lately Samsung has been trying to cover all levels of the smartphone market, and with most carriers too. With the Samsung Captivate Glide they've done just that over on AT&T. Along with the Doubletime and a few other phones they have the entire range covered. Today we'll be showing you the mid to higher end of that spectrum with the Captivate Glide and its slide-out QWERTY keyboard and dual-core processor. It might not be the biggest or the best but it will put up a good fight, that is for sure.

SwiftKey X Alpha gets multi-touch support, VIP users try it early
SwiftKey X is a popular alternative to the standard Android keyboard, and the developers are in the habit of continually improving it. In addition to a Halloween pumpkin theme last month, they're trying out multi-touch features in a new alpha release. The download has been spread around by the developers, but only VIP members (i.e. those who have paid for SwiftKey X) can access it.

Swype OTA update coming soon, brings context prediction and more
The developers of Swype have been on a roll as of late and just last month announced the new Swype v3.26 BETA. Along with the update came tons of changes and even a new design layout for the keyboard. One of the biggest though, was automatic updates right to the device instead of all the fuss that we've had to deal with in the past with Swype. Today Swype has started the first OTA update for their BETA and users should see it soon.
