iTunes Radio free vs Google Music’s monthly fee
Yesterday, Apple put all the rumors to rest and officially announced their next entry into the music world with iTunes Radio. A music streaming service from Apple has been speculated about for years, and now that it's finally here we wanted to compare it with Google's offering. Apple is late to the subscription-based streaming party, but have a pretty good plan that has me questioning my Google Music All Access subscription already.

Xperia lust? iPhone owners pulled in by Sony’s magical “Transfer”
It seems that Sony must feel one of the ways to win that race for third is to begin attracting iPhone users. Well, while they haven't specifically offered that little tidbit, they have recently released an update for the PC Companion and Bridge for Mac apps -- one that is said to make it "ridiculously easy" to get your personal data off your iPhone and onto your new Xperia smartphone.

Temple Run 2 Android release set for record-breaking response
This past week we've seen just about as much interest in one game as we've seen in every single other app on the market, and it isn't even out yet: Temple Run 2. The original Temple Run was one of the most hotly anticipated games for Android back when it launched many moons after the iOS iteration, and here with the Apple-first release of Temple Run 2, history seems very much to be repeating itself - and not just figuratively.

Woz would love to see iTunes running on his Android phone
For an Android site, we sure have been writing about Steve Wozniak a lot lately. First we got to take a look inside his travel backpack and see all of his gadgets, then we heard him saying that he didn't agree with the highly publicized Apple-Samsung verdict. Now, thanks to a new Q&A session at Slashdot, we're finding out a lot more about him in general. Woz answered a bunch of different questions during the Q&A session, but a few of his answers in particular stick out.

Winamp was always my favorite music player on my PC, and still reigns over iTunes for myself. This weekend they updated their player for Android with plenty of new goodies so check it out.

Google Music Store Market screenshots leak, Free song of the Day and more
Users in the world of Android have been waiting for a full on music solution for what seems like ages, but come this Wednesday that might be exactly what we all finally get. We've just received some leaked screenshots showing a Google Music store in the Android Market, just like Movies and Books. The screenshots appear to be an early build or at least similar to what we can expect Google to announce at the "These Go to Eleven" press event this Wednesday.

Google Music “These Go to Eleven” Announcement coming November 16th
Well folks, we just received word right from Google of an upcoming event that will clearly be about Google Music. It looks like the time has finally come and Google will be announcing and showing the world what they have in store for Google Music. If the "These Go to Eleven" didn't ring a bell for anyone, think Spinal Tap. If you don't know what that is I suggest you Google that, and enjoy it. Recent Google Music pages pointed to a music store coming to the Android Market, but we'll all know the details come next week.

Apple Expected to Lose Case to Crush Android Amazon Appstore
So you're aware of the fact that the Amazon Appstore, which we've got a bit outline of for you in Android Community 101: Amazon Appstore, has the word "Appstore" in it, right? Apple knows this too, and thinks that they own it. Apple's legal department is and has been worried that the word Appstore might infringe on their trademark ownership on the term "App Store", a fight they've got to fight for every sort of infringement like this lest they loose the title for their very own - that's how the US legal department sees it. In this case though, it's become apparent today, Apple's case is being seen as moot.

Rovio’s Amazon Connection will Change App Sales for Android Forever
If you've got your hand on the pulse of the developer community here in the Android world, you've got some sense that a maker of games can get a lot more cash in their pocket by giving away a game for free (with ad coverage all over it) than they can selling the game without ads. This is due in part to the market that's developed in the Android world, one where it's much more likely that a game will be popular and stay popular if it costs the consumer no currency*. All that may be about to change with Rovio's announcement that Angry Birds: RIO will be released on Amazon's new Android app market exclusively.

Android Market on pace to outgrow iTunes 3-1
According to a recent report by Lookout's App Genome Project, the number of Android Marketplace apps increased by over 125% since August, putting it on pace to outgrow iTunes apps three to one. Apple still commands a sizeable lead in the total number of apps it offers through iTunes versus AM, the gap is narrowing quickly.
"If apps continue to be developed for each platform at this same rate, said Lookout CTO Kevin Mahaffey, "the Android Market will have more apps than the Apple App Store by mid-2012."
