T-Mobile choosing ISIS over Google Wallet
Similar to what we have seen with Google Wallet and Verizon Wireless, it looks like T-Mobile has offered a bit of insight in terms of which mobile payment system that will be supporting. Basically, it seems T-Mobile is blocking Google Wallet in support of ISIS. This latest bit comes by way of a recent question that was posed to the T-Mobile help account on Twitter.

It looks like we've learned a bit more behind the Google Wallet block on Verizon Wireless today. There's been a lot of talk lately about this "secure element." Most of that talk is from Verizon who claims the secure element is the reason they don't allow Google Wallet on their network. What is that you ask? The secure element is in most new devices using NFC and securely handles credit card information, royalty cards, and everything else for mobile payments.

Earlier today, we told you that Isis Mobile Wallet had launched in Salt Lake City and Austin with 9 supported devices on 3 different carriers. That's big news, but not one to be outdone, Google has started teasing an announcement of its own. It seems that Google Wallet is about to get an all new version, and with it, Google is looking to tackle all sorts of other markets.

If you've been closely watching the development of Isis Mobile Wallet, you'll be pleased to know that the service launched in Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas today. Even better is the news that nine handsets are supporting Isis from the start, so you've got some options when it comes to picking an Isis-ready phone. Since Isis is a team up between AT&T, T-Mobile, and Verizon, all you need to do is stop in at one of their stores and pick up your Isis-supported handset (provided you live in Salt Lake City or Austin, of course).

ISIS Mobile Payments officially launching October 22nd
Today the folks from ISIS have actually confirmed the October 22nd launch date for their mobile payment system. After multiple tips, leaks, and rumors suggested it was coming soon today they've made it official. After multiple delays ISIS will finally launch on October 22nd in two test cities. Those being Salt Lake City, Utah, and Austin, Texas.

The ISIS Mobile Wallet solution and competitor of Google Wallet has apparently launched a bit premature this afternoon. We've been hearing rumors and reports suggesting ISIS will launch for T-Mobile on October 22nd, but today the T-Mobile specific version has landed in the Google Play Store.

ISIS, the mobile payments platform we've been hearing about for months, is finally going to launch on October 22 of this year. Well, it's not a full launch, more like a pilot to test the service, but it's still a step in the right direction for sure. A leaked image of what looks like a T-Mobile internal document posted by TmoNews clearly shows that they plan to have this app hit Google Play on the 22nd.

Today news has arrived that the folk at Verizon and HTC are sending out a quick update to their mildly popular HTC DROID Incredible 4G smartphone as we speak. It looks like DROID Inc 4G owners will be getting a small update that fixes a few bugs, adds some new features, and will bring support for ISIS Mobile payments -- the Google Wallet competitor. There's been a lot of talk as of late regarding mobile payment systems. Google Wallet is probably the most widely known but the lack of carrier support has caused them some issues. That is where Isis comes is. Isis is a new mobile payment system we've been waiting for that is part of a joint effort from carriers like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile all tossing huge sums of money their way. New details claim it could launch in September.

Today, T-Mobile announced that it was rolling out an Isis/NFC update to the Samsung Galaxy S II. Most of us already know that NFC is used for commerce, and while T-Mobile thinks that's great, it has outlined its plan for NFC now that its showing up on its phones. To hear T-Mobile explain it, the roll out of NFC is more than just a joint venture with Isis to challenge Google Wallet.
