The latest Instagram app update has been announced. This update brings a new feature called Photos of You, which is said to be the answer to the question of who. To give a bit of a background on that, the folks at Instagram have said he Photo Map answers the where and the captions and hashtags answer the what. Instagram for Android launched one year ago today. In fact, it has been one year to the day as the Instagram app first appeared in the Google Play Store on April 3, 2012. Instagram hit with class-action lawsuit over controversial Terms of Service

It hasn't been a good week for Instagram. When the Facebook-owned company revealed its updated Terms of Service, which go into effect next month, the Internet went crazy, pointing out certain clauses that many users took issue with. It was a controversy that had co-founder Kevin Systrom taking to the Instagram blog to try to smooth things over before the company changed the Terms of Service to contain more favorable language. Today, however, we hear that Instagram has been hit with a class action lawsuit filed by Finkelstein & Krinsk for plaintiff Lucy Fines.

Today Instagram is in the news again, only this time regarding updates to their popular mobile apps instead of privacy and terms of service changes. Today the folks from Instagram updated their app with multiple changes, as well as deeper Facebook integration. Google acquires Instagram-competitor Snapseed

Nik Software, the company behind the popular photography app Snapseed, has been bought by Google today. The search giant plans to bolster its Google+ photo features with the Snapseed acquisition and compete with Facebook and Instagram head on. The app, which is available on iOS, Mac and Windows (with an Android version coming soon), has gained over nine million users within its first year.
