A few months ago Myriad Group introduced a new way to speed up Android’s Dalvik Virtual Machine to drastically improve the speed of the system. Since then there hasn’t been much information on the progress of this project until now. This system works on the MIPS architecture and could potentially replace the Dalvik VM completely.

This is good news for all you X10 owners, Sony has just confirmed Android 2.1 for the X10 in Q4. Not only will it get Android 2.1 but it will also receive a few other enhancements. This device is one of the best multimedia Android devices. The X10 Mini and Pro may receive the update shortly after the original.

Google Sky Map updated v1.5
This is without a doubt one of the coolest apps of any kind on any platform. The latest update just made it even better. There is now a picture gallery with photos taken from the Hubble Space Telescope. This app now has "Magnetic Correction" to fix the angles of the stars to more accurately depict how it would look if you were looking directly at them. I highly recommend this app for any Android user.

Google announced today that it has added support for all Android devices running 1.6 or higher. Initially, this was only available to phones that has 2.0 and up leaving only two Android’s capable of using this new feature.
