ZTE Grand Era LTE flaunts its dual-mode LTE

ZTE today revealed its first dual-mode LTE smartphone in Hong Kong, the ZTE Grand Era LTE. This phone is billed to be part of the launch of China Mobile Hong Kong's first commercial converged TD-LTE / LTE FDD network, so it should end up being a pretty big deal over there. While dual-LTE is undoubtedly going to be the star of this show, there are some pretty solid specs to boost that functionality up.

Sony XPERIA Tablet S reviewed at SlashGear

There certainly isn't any lack of Android tablets to pick from, and now Sony has thrown another one onto the ever-growing pile. We don't hear as much from Sony as we do from other manufacturers in the Android space, but when we do, there's a pretty good chance that Sony has implemented some strange feature to make its products stand out from the rest. Ice Cream Sandwich hitting LG Optimus 2X in Europe

It's been a long, long time coming, but it appears that some folks outside of Korea are finally getting the long awaited update to Ice Cream Sandwich on their LG Optimus 2X. We've been talking about this update for more than a year now, with LG even leading us to believe at one point that the Optimus 2X would not be getting an update to Ice Cream Sandwich. In a rather strange (and very delayed) turn of events, GSMArena has spotted a thread on the XDA Developers forum that says the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Optimus 2X is now ready for Europe.

After initial launch plans back in November were delayed, today the folks from AT&T have announced their new budget friendly HTC One VX is available right now. HTC's new pocket and wallet friendly smartphone is available in stores and online for the low low price of just $49.99 and we have all the details on this impressive phone below.

Android distribution numbers for November see Jelly Bean making gains

Google has released the Android platform distribution numbers for November, and things are starting to look up for Jelly Bean. Whereas Jelly Bean only held a 2.7% share in October, it was up to 6.7% in November. That's not too bad when you think about the sheer number of Android handsets out there, but of course, Gingerbread is still reigning supreme as it's running on 50.8% of handsets according to the data.

HTC One VX headed to AT&T December 7th

Earlier this month the folks from HTC and AT&T announced two new smartphones to grace their 4G LTE lineup. Those being the new and improved HTC One X+, as well as the budget friendly HTC One VX. Sadly the only one available is the One X+ and we've still not heard a word regarding the VX. Today however the carrier is stating they expect to be "fully stocked" with the One VX by December 7th.

Ice Cream Sandwich update hits Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 3G

Some of us are always on the lookout for news of Jelly Bean updates, but of course, there are a ton of devices out there that aren't even on Ice Cream Sandwich yet. There are many Android users who are patiently awaiting the arrival of an Ice Cream Sandwich update that may never arrive. It's almost tragic in a way, but luckily, we're finding out today that the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 3G (GT-P7300) won't be one of the devices stuck in the past.
