Android usage: more than a third of users are stuck in 2011

It seems fair to say that many Android users want to be running Kit Kat. But the truth of the matter here, not all that many are actually getting that wish. In fact, according to the latest Android 'platform versions' report released by Google -- only 2.5 percent of users are on Kit Kat. Furthermore, even though Kit Kat has been available for roughly four months, it remains at such a little percentage that Google has yet to split the percentages between 4.4 and 4.4.2.

A.I Watch unveiled as latest full-Android smartwatch

Yet another smartwatch has launched for crowd funding. This latest watch is the A.I Watch and the listing has been spotted on Indiegogo where the team creating the smartwatch is looking for $100,000 in funding. Time will tell if/when they reach that goal, however for now what we are seeing is another smartwatch launching with full Android and cellular connectivity.

Android distribution chart drops Donut and Eclair

Google has released the latest Android usage numbers. This latest is the September report which considers data from a 7-day period that ended on September 4. The usage has been detailed based on platform versions just as we have seen in previous months, however this latest report has arrived as the first without Donut and Eclair.

Jelly Bean usage rises above Gingerbread

Google has once again released the numbers showing the percentage of Android versions and while we have been watching a steady rise for Jelly Bean, this latest shows a change in the top position. Over the course of the past month Jelly Bean usage has gone from 33 percent up to 37.9 percent. But perhaps the key point here, Jelly Bean usage is now sitting above Gingerbread.

HTC Desire 200 official: tiniest HTC One yet!

The HTC Desire 200 isn't a device you'll be seeing out there in the wild as often as the HTC One - mostly because it wont be released in the USA until it's passed through the paces internationally. Android distribution numbers show Jelly Bean rise to 33%

Earlier today we talked a little about the Android Army in terms of raw Android app downloads, and now this afternoon Google has released the latest Android distribution numbers for June showing some significant number changes. As usual this update shows developers the different Android version and platform distribution numbers, and as expected, Jelly Bean is still on the rise.

Pantech Perception hands-on and unboxing
