LG Nitro HD ICS update due July 31st

We might have jumped up a version of Android to Jelly Bean, but manufacturers are still playing catch up with Ice Cream Sandwich. At least LG is working slowly but surely, with AT&T announcing that the ICS update for the LG Nitro HD will be coming on July 31st. The update will bring all the benefits of Ice Cream Sandwich, plus LG’s new Optimus 3.0 UI, offering a cleaner visual aesthetic plus some new features.

Samsung Galaxy Note ICS source code now available

For all the ire that Samsung draws with its TouchWiz interface and mostly late software updates, the company is surprisingly forward when it comes to supporting the open source aspects of Android. Bootloaders aren't an issue (we're looking at you, Moto and HTC) and source code is delivered in a timely manner. So it is with the Galaxy Note: a couple of weeks after sending out the Ice Cream Sandwich update to international models, they've posted the source code for same.

Galaxy Nexus his NTT DoCoMo in Japan on December 2nd

Yes, America, everyone gets the Galaxy Nexus before you. The latest is the Japanese market, where Samsung will release the phone into the open arms of carrier NTT DoCoMo. The Galaxy Nexus lands in the land of the rising sun gets it on December 2nd, this Friday. DoCoMo gets the GSM version that's currently on sale in Europe, but there's no mention of a price just yet.
