Motorola reducing Xoom orders and supply already? Moto says No
Earlier this week there was a few reports that the Motorola Xoom was doing ok with sales, but that Motorola was already starting to cut orders, and lower supply. There was also talk that they might be terminating production as soon as July 2011. This all stems from a story by Digitimes that ran yesterday. For more information on the original story we covered it at SlashGear.

Acer Iconia Tab A500 [Picasso] Android Tablet Hands-On
Now before we begin, I must say that this is not the first we've ever heard of this tablet, nor is it the first we've ever seen it in real life (If I remember right, we snuck a tiny peek at it at CES 2011 but were sworn to secrecy.) Now we've got our grubby mitts on it and we've been given the opportunity to compare it not only to the Motorola XOOM tablet, but the iPad 2, both for size and for weight. This is a tablet that's made of metal, this is a tablet that's made for Honeycomb, this is a tablet that is nowhere near ready for release.

HTC Thunderbolt now available according to Verizon Flyer
One tease after another the HTC Thunderbolt just can't stay out of the news. It's been delayed time and time again, or has it. Technically it has not because it wasn't actually ever given a set date. The February date many threw around was because that was posted on a 30ft screen at CES2011. Today we have an entire next level of Seriously Verizon, with ads coming in the mail to customers saying "Now Available".

Toshiba Android 3.0 Honeycomb Tablet to top iPad 2
It looks like Toshiba is getting ready to release an Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet in the near future. According to a General Manager of Toshiba. He goes on to mention that it will not only compete with Apple's iPad 2, but that it will beat it and will be superior. That is a lot to stack up against, we know. The Motorola Xoom holds it's own though, and it does it well.

HTC Thunderbolt launch delay by the iPad 2 confirmed

HTC Thunderbolt launch delay by the iPad 2 confirmed
It seems that the launch date for the HTC Thunderbolt at Verizon is once again slipping. But this time it isn't due to bad battery life or any other technical issue. We've been able to confirm what we reported yesterday that the delay is actually the fault of Apple and it's March 11th launch date for the iPad2. Apparently, it's problematic to launch two major platforms at the same time due to staff training. And since Apple's date isn't likely to slip, the Thunderbolt will have to wait.

No Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hardware tweaks; Honeycomb slate still on track insists exec

No Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 hardware tweaks; Honeycomb slate still on track insists exec
Samsung has insisted the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb tablet is still on track with its original release plans, denying speculation that the company were returning the 10.1-inch slate to the engineering lab so as to make it more competitive against the iPad 2. Having been quoted as saying that "[Samsung] will have to improve the parts [of the Galaxy Tab 10.1] that are inadequate" last week, Executive Vice President Lee Don-Joo told Yonhap News this weekend that the tablet wasn't being reworked. Speaking shortly after Apple unveiled the second-gen iPad, Don-Joo had singled out the slate's slim build as a key improvement. Samsung had previously been championing the Galaxy Tab 10.1's thinner chassis than the first-gen iPad, as well as its lighter weight. "We will continue to make every effort to provide the most powerful, well-designed and productive mobile device to customers" Don-Joo now says, though it seems Samsung only has pricing left to differentiate the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 found lacking by Samsung compared to iPad 2, price cut may be coming
There is no doubt that when Steve Jobs pulled the iPad 2 out on strange there were a lot of tablet markers that had to step back and reconsider how they were positioning their own offerings in the market. One of those firms that is doing some reconsidering is Samsung with its Galaxy Tab 10.1. Samsung is feeling a bit inadequate against the iPad 2.

Which tablet should I choose to buy? Don’t even bother looking at specs – or price for that matter.

Which tablet should I choose to buy? Don’t even bother looking at specs – or price for that matter.
Before I begin here, allow me to address the cost factor - when begin thinking about purchasing a tablet, you've got to weigh the cost of the tablet against the benefits of owning it. This is the same thing you really ought to be doing, in my humble opinion, whenever you decide you're going to buy a bit of technology, or a car, or a house, or whatever other item you're going to purchase for the benefits of owning it. On the other hand, if you're thinking of purchasing a tablet so you can use it for entertainment alone, you've got an ever-so-slightly different set of circumstances you're going to deal with - BUT, as I'll maintain through the entirety of this text, comparing one tablet to the other based on specifications is, as Erica Sadun puts it, "missing the point." You must go forth and buy the tablet you know, in your heart, if you will, will be the one you'll love the best.

Motorola XOOM vs iPad 2
Welcome to the main event. This is the war everyone's been waiting for, ever since the idea of an Android tablet first came into fruition. Now we've got a Honeycomb optimized tablet, the first of its kind, and the second generation of Apple's main gun, the iPad, the tablet that got this wild ball rolling. Will iPad 2's lower price (still 499) be enough to knock the Tegra 2-toting XOOM out of the park? Or will it be the XOOM's open-source access and heavy-metal attitude that punches the iPad 2's white-or-black front-having face into the dirt? Let's have a lovely look!
