Hulu Plus app update brings support for Hulu Kids

Back in early November, Hulu announced a new child-friendly feature. It is called Hulu Kids and just as the name would imply, it arrives as a child-friendly section within Hulu. This was initially rolled-out on the web as well as on the PlayStation 3. And well, a recent update has added Hulu Kids to the Android app.

If Netflix isn't cutting it for you and are instead resorting to other popular streaming apps like Hulu Plus, HBO GO, and Max GO, you might be happy to know that some small updates have come to all three. They aren't significant, but they may play a small role in improving your mobile movie and TV show watching sessions.

Good news today for anyone that uses Hulu. They've finally updated Hulu Plus for Android with full tablet support with a sleek new user interface and fullscreen streaming. Hulu hasn't been a very popular Android app and the user interface was quite poor if you ask me. After installing the new tablet-optimized app on my Transformer Prime I can safely say the new app is awesome, and looks great on a 10-inch screen.

Hulu's support for Android has left more than a few people underwhelmed: in addition to coming out considerably later than the iOS version, it still only works on select devices. Thanks to the folks over at XDA, specifically one callming his or herself "Vgeezy", has found away around that. The modified Hulu Plus APK should work on almost any Android device. According to further comments, systems as diverse as the Galaxy Nexus Motorola XOOM, DROID X2, and original Transformer are working.

Hulu Plus also coming to the Amazon Kindle Fire

hold your horses, Barnes & Noble: you're not the only e-reader/tablet game in town with access to Hulu Plus. Amazon has just announced that the popular streaming service will also becoming to the Kindle Fire. Barnes & Noble ad previously highlighted built-in apps for Hulu Plus and Netflix for its upcoming Nook Tablet, but those advantages have quickly gone by the wayside. Both devices will be released next week.

Ever wonder when Hulu would get on the ball and add more Android phones to the officially supported list? I know I've been highly disappointed with the current offering but today that's changed a bit. While Hulu still doesn't offer support for a wide array of devices today however they've added 8 additional phones with the update that is available now in the Android Market.

MAX GO Now Available from HBO

MAX GO, the mobile Android application for Cinemax subscribers, is now available in the Android Market. Similar to HBO GO, this service will be available after users authenticate their cable/satellite provider's information. Any movie or series available to Cinemax on demand will be available for mobile use on MAX GO.
