Huawei Ascend P2 image leak highlights the water resistance

Huawei Ascend P2 leaks are not all that surprising at this point. After all, we have seen several including some in image form in the recent weeks. It looks like we now have one additional to check out before an official announcement. This latest is coming by way of the Chinese language cnBeta.com website and is showing the water-resistant aspect of the device.

We have seen a few recent reports which all seem to place Samsung in a rather dominant position. And well, it looks like we have yet another to mention. This latest arrives from Canalys, who happen to be an independent analyst firm. The Canalys report is dealing with information from Q4 2012 and is showing the worldwide smartphone market share by manufacturer.

Another set of Huawei Ascend P2 images have surfaced. These latest are offering a look at the backside of the device as well as a slightly blurry look at the front side. Basically, these are certainly not the best leaked images we have seen, however on the flip side -- it is nice that the pics are showing an actual phone. As you will likely notice in the image of the back, the camera details are covered up by a finger.

Huawei 6.1-inch Ascend Mate phablet priced at $575

In case you guys haven't seen the news, Huawei is taking on the bigger than usual phablet market like the Galaxy Note II, and Samsung's rumored Galaxy Note III. Their new 6.1-inch Ascend Mate smartphone was shown off at CES, and now we have some official pricing details. Huawei will be offering this handset at $575 contract-free and unlocked.

Huawei is expected to unveil the Ascend P2 smartphone during Mobile World Congress. Up until this point, we have seen some rumored specs and even a leaked image. And well, the latest in the Huawei rumor mill is now calling for a second P2 handset. Details are suggesting that Huawei will also announced an Ascend P2 Mini.

Huawei unveiled the Ascend D2 smartphone during CES and we are expecting the Ascend P2 to arrive during Mobile World Congress. But lets put the smartphones aside for a moment though, because it looks as if Huawei also has plans to release a set-top media player with Android. The box is the MediaQ M310 and details have recently surfaced by way of CNX-Soft.

Huawei MediaPad 10 Link tablet spotted with the FCC

Huawei was showing off the MediaPad 10 Link tablet during CES, and as of today, it looks like the tablet has taken the next step towards a release. Keep in mind though, Huawei has yet to announce when that release will be happening. And as we already know, the FCC filings will never reveal that bit. Based on the filing, the MediaPad 10 Link looks like it will be arriving as a lower-end version of the MediaPad 10 FHD.

IDC: Strong demand for smartphones with Samsung leading the charge

IDC, the International Data Corporation has recently released their Q4 2012 report and are telling a story of strong demand for smartphones and of heated competition between vendors. The numbers are showing the top five smartphone vendors as being Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Sony and ZTE. The report shows all smartphones vendors as having shipped 219.4 million units during Q4 2012.

Just like the weeks before CES, we're now getting close to Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and we're already starting to see leaks. Huawei is at it again and today the first press image has leaked for their upcoming 1080p super-slim smartphone. Their Ascend D2 was shown off at CES, but MWC it'll be all about the new Ascend P2 with its 13 megapixel camera and 1.8 GHz quad-core processor.
