HTC and Valve get together to bring forth Vive VR headset [UPDATE]

That HTC would be unveiling the HTC One M9 is a no-brainer. Even the HTC Grip fitness band was somewhat expected. But imagine our surprise when the smartphone maker revealed at MWC 2015 that it too will be dipping its toes into the virtual reality market, with a high-profile partner no less. The strangely named HTC Vive will be the company's entry into the budding VR arena. And to boost its credentials, it will be working with Valve with its own soon to be revealed Steam VR platform.

HTC One M8 releases new special Champions League edition

If you're a football fan who supports clubs like Real Madrid, Manchester United or Bayern Munich (among others), and if you're looking for a new smartphone, then you'd want to get your hands on this new baby. HTC announced they're releasing another UEFA Collector's Edition One M8 smartphone, and this time, it's not just the Champions League trophy and logo at the back.

HTC and Samsung begin live stream countdowns

One of the biggest events for new smartphones and tablets to be unveiled each year comes in early March in Barcelona, Spain. The event is Mobile World Congress (MWC) and each year hoards of new smartphones are unveiled at the show. Since MWC happens in Spain, many people who want to check out what their favorite smartphone makers are unveiling can’t go.

HTC RE camera can now stream live on YouTube

Do you have dreams of becoming the next YouTube sensation? (and don't laugh at that dream because some of the YT stars earn millions just for people watching their videos). Well, you don't need to have a great set-up at home or in a studio to be able to launch a YT show. The HTC RE camera can now stream live videos to the video channel, so you can bring your show to the Internet even while you're in a mobile setting.

HTC One M9 detailed in big video leaks

The HTC One M9 will be made official in the near future, but at the rate the leaks are happening, not much will be a surprise once it comes. Over the weekend, a German retailer ended up leaking several renders of the phone, and now three videos have surfaced, all of them showing off the smartphone in extensive detail, including text boxes pointing out key elements of the phone. We've got all three videos in their entirety, as well as the pertinent details, after the jump!

HTC One M9 renders, details leaked by German retailer

We're just a week away from the world's largest mobile industry event, so naturally companies are getting their stuff ready. Unfortunately, at least for the companies, sometimes that results in unwanted leaks of "official" marketing materials happen. It seems that HTC just can't seem to get a lockdown of its information before MWC 2015. Or does it? This latest leak delivers an almost complete picture, figuratively and literally, of the HTC One M9 that makes it sound almost too good to be true. The same can't be said of the smartphone, sadly.

New HTC One to be unveiled March 1

Let them stare. That's what HTC just told us through a teaser recently posted on Twitter. The new HTC One, possibly the HTC One M9, will finally be revealed on March 1, 2015, Sunday. We're expecting an announcement at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. This is good news for those HTC fans who've been waiting for the new flagship phone. The past weeks, we've been hearing rumors and leaks only but at least we now know that there is a new HTC One being prepped.

HTC drops the parentheses, next flagship will be the One M9

From HTC One (M7) to HTC One (M8) to HTC One M9, notice anything different? Yep, no more parentheses on the next flagship. It still is a rumor but I don't think there's any problem with HTC removing the extra symbols. HTC One M9 seems simpler. A website was spotted with the HTC One M9 reference which actually seems legit and nothing photoshopped. The page has since been taken down though. (And seriously, what's with the parentheses anyway?)

HTC Service Video Player app arrives at Google Play Store

There are a lot of HTC exclusive apps available but they don't always come to the Google Play Store immediately. The HTC Video Player has been ready for some time but it's only now the HTC app has been added to Google Play. Officially called as the 'HTC Service — Video Player' app, this one allows the phone to play streaming video and local files, thanks to a special decoding power.
