HTC releases preview of ICS for Sensation and Sensation XE

HTC's big dance at Mobile World Congress is just a couple of days away, but it looks like they couldn't resist getting some beta software out beforehand. Like Sony did yesterday, HTC has released its first "preview" build of Ice Cream Sandwich, by way of their Elevate program. The first ROMs are only accessible on the HTC Sensation and the Sensation XE, but include Sense 4.0, the ICS version of HTC's nearly universal Android skin. Elevate members should have already received an invitation to download the software.

White HTC Sensation hits Netherlands with Ice Cream Sandwich on March 1

Oh look, another white version of an existing smartphone. How mildly interesting. But wait, gentle reader: the bonus that comes along with the newest HTC sensation might just make you do a digital double-take. The Taiwanese manufacturer announced today that the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the popular mid-range smartphone would be releasing soon, but the special white version of the Sensation will (as far as we know) be the first HTC device to ship with Android 4.0. At the moment the launch of the white Sensation is only confirmed for the Netherlands. HTC will update to ICS for current owners of the Sensation, Sensation XE and Sensation XL around the same time.

HTC Sensation Android 4.0 ROM Leaks, teases Sense UI on ICS

While developers have been going crazy porting and working on ROM's for all devices to get a taste of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich today we have something even better. This appears to be a full Android 4.0 ROM for the Sensation XE that was leaked to the public. Developers have already ported this to the regular HTC Sensation and it seems to be working great. This also gives us our first glace at what to expect with HTC's Sense UI on Ice Cream Sandwich -- more of the same sadly.

HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio hands-on

Look what we have here for everyone, the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio. HTC might be known by their tagline "Quietly Brilliant" but things sure are about to get a whole lot louder with the introduction of Beats Audio into their wide array of smartphones. We were able to meet with HTC and get some hands-on time with the Sensation XE earlier today and it sure looks and sounds impressive. Check out all the photos and details after the break.
