HTC Rezound set to get Ice Cream Sandwich early 2012

Today HTC and Verizon have joined forces and made the HTC Rezound official during the event in NYC. Along with showing off the new 4G LTE smartphone and detailing all its specs, they also mentioned a few important things regarding Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. HTC specifically called the Rezound "ICS ready" and mentioned they have a strick update plan set for early 2012.

At an HTC event in New York City today, the manufacturer announced its latest and greatest Verizon 4G LTE phone, the HTC Rezound. The phone has been leaked to blazes and back, but it's good to finally get confirmation on this piece of high-end hardware. The 1.5Ghz dual-core Gingerbread smartphone is HTC's first with a 720p display, stretching 1280 x 720 pixels across a 4.3-inch screen. The Rezound was previously codenamed the Vigor.

There's no doubt in our minds that the New York City HTC event set for later today will see the arrival of the jumbo-sized HTC Rezound, but if you just can't wait that long, take a gander at the photo below. It's the rift official look we've had at the Verizon phone, courtesy of PocketNow. The shots line up with the numerous leaks of the Rezound (codenamed "Vigor") in all its glory.

HTC Rezound gets unboxed and handled on camera

The unreleased and still not fully confirmed HTC Rezound for Verizon Wireless has just been unboxed -- sort of. While we have a plain white box and what is surely not anything official and merely a pre-production unit. We do have all the wrapping paper, cables, chargers and what looks to be what will come with the device once shipped although I didn't see any Beats headphones. HTC Rezound shows up in Verizon store ads

HTC has a New York City event scheduled for this Thursday, November 3rd, wherein the Rezound is expected to make its much-anticipated first appearance. It looks like that's being corroborated by at least one Verizon Wireless store, which has posted a digital ad featuring the Rezound next to its carrier predecessors, the LG Revolution and DROID BIONIC. Also prominently featured are Beats headphones, definitely indicating that the device will feature the audio additions of HTC's subsidiary.

HTC ships 13.2 million devices in Q3, confirms two launches for November

Another day, another quarterly earnings report. Taiwanese smartphone specialist HTC is doing very well, with 13.2 million total device sales (not all Android, of course), $4.54 billion in total revenue, $625 million of which is profit. Riding the continuing surge in worldwide smartphone sales, HTC is up year-over-year in every major statistic, with shipped devices rising an impressive 93%.

HTC Rezound hits the FCC again, this time with wireless charging

The new HTC Rezound is making its way through the FCC again with a few additional goodies. We first saw it clear the FCC back in September as the HTC Vigor (codename), but today it made a surprise stop for round 2 and it seems to be sporting some wireless charging capabilities.

HTC has just announced their plans for another product unveiling for next week in NYC. Thursday, November 3rd they'll be holding a media event to show us and the world their latest innovation. Most likely we will be rocking out with some beats audio and possibly a 720p HD display with the new HTC Rezound (codenamed Vigor) headed to Verizon Wireless with 4G LTE. This is just a guess, but most likely that is what they'll have in store for everyone.

Whoa, Nelly! Verizon's list of upcoming devices has leaked, and it includes a couple of names that should turn heads. Both the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the HTC Rezound are listed at $299 with advertisements beginning on November 10th. Between this Droid-Life leak and a good bit of earlier info, this leaves little doubt that both devices will find there way onto Verizon's shelves next month.
