HTC ‘Proto’ budget smartphone leaks

What you see below is another smartphone from the folks at HTC. We've heard the name HTC Proto before but today are getting our first glance at this upcoming budget smartphone. Since launching their popular One series we haven't heard much from HTC, but it appears they are getting ready to hopefully dominate the market for the holiday season.

As we continue with the HTC launch event here at Mobile World Congress we have the low-end of the three new Android smartphones being announced as a part of their "fewer but better" devices strategy. This is the HTC One V, previously rumored as the HTC Primo, and it brings all those specs we've come to love along with the latest Android OS all for a great price. HTC had a really strong year in 2011 thanks to Android, and they look be starting off great with this new phone for 2012. With an event scheduled for Mobile World Congress 2012 in Spain, and a few leaked devices lately we are expecting some impressive announcements. Today we are hearing some interesting details about an upcoming mid-range phone powered by Ice Cream Sandwich called the HTC Primo.
